Vote for Haley? No Way!

We've gotten a few e-mails this morning telling us to switch our pick from Sanjaya to Haley because of Sanjaya's performance this week. The people who wrote these letters obviously do not understand VFTW and have not been around very long. When we hitch our cart to a horse, we stick with it unless they suddenly become amazing week after week. We vote for entertaining people, not boring people. Thus, here are our top 10 (humorous) reasons to stick with Sanjaya and ignore White Bread Haley.

10. Sanjaya had one OK performance this week, and many many hilarious crazy performances in the past. Haley has never had a crazy performance and has had a few OK performances.

9. Haley's idea of interesting is showing off her legs. Sanjaya's idea of interesting is rocking a ponyhawk and butchering No Doubt songs.

8. Sanjaya's hair hypnotizes us and has us wondering what it can do next week. Haley's hair is... long and boring.

7. Producer Ken Warwick has defended Haley in interviews, saying Simon has been too cruel to her. Ken, on the other hand, says that Sanjaya will not win and seems hell bent on making sure this happens.

6. Sanjaya has fun nicknames like "Sangina". Haley has boring nicknames like "White Bread" because no nickname is boring enough for her.

5. Sanjaya is fun and crazy when he moves around awkwardly on stage. The only reason his performance this week wasn't as awkward was because he was sitting. Haley is never fun, she inspires bathroom breaks.

4. Sanjaya defies gender stereotypes much better than Haley.

3. When Sanjaya is bad, he's oh so bad, and it inspires talk for weeks. When Haley is bad, people just kind of get mildly annoyed and then go back to their bathroom breaks.

2. Sanjaya inspires crowds of little girls to cry as he fumbles around the stage. This produces hilarious results, such as when that crying girl was in the audience. Haley only inspires straight men and lesbians to turn off the TV and play with themselves, which is not hilarious.

1. Sanjaya spouts of hilarious catchphrases like "Welcome to the Universe of Sanjaya" and "You're just jealous because you can't pull it off." Haley speaks sometimes... I think.

Obviously keep Sanjaya as the VFTW pick until he loses but next in line MUST be Haley "Hot Legs" Scarnato! If Haley gets eliminated this week, the beauty curve will be thrown off big time unless you like women who need Jenny Craig or a neck!

This site is hilarious and, while I don't watch AI (and I see I'm not the only one who gets it that it's a reality show and not a singing competition), I will return here to laugh. I literally have laughed myself to tears. What a great guilty pleasure.... Some of you are so funny-- like sprinkler13 and GBU-- in their responses to that cra8zynut (that moniker is quite telling!) and aLL cAPS gIRL. I'm now fans of yours! I can almost stomach their comments just to look forward to the responses. Please keep it up!

Hmmm….A Taylor Hicks fan I presume. KS: Putting the sound of both Melinda and Sanjaya aside, I think Melinda looks better up there on stage than Sanjaya. Granted, Melinda is no Katharine Mcphee but she's not freaky looking or anything. For some reason, Sanjaya reminds me of Micheal Jackson except without the talent. He's got NOTHING going for him. That is, of course, unless you think he's funny, which he is in a way I guess. But even so, he's not THAT funny. Besides, no matter how funny he might appear or sound to me (maybe after I managed to get myself completely shit faced or something), I would much rather listen to the singing of a performer like Melinda. In short, you have your notions about what constitutes the meaning of the words “talent” and “entertainment”. I have mine. I can do without the clown work. And just because AI might be more about $$$ and TV “entertainment” than it is about “talent” (no matter how you define the words), it doesn’t mean that the show doesn’t exhibit any talent at all (my kind of talent that is). The reason you don’t notice it is probably because your perceptions are clouded by your prejudices about the show.

"quit choosing contestants that are horrible and voting for them" Hey, dumb bitch, did you watch the auditions? Did you watch the Hollywood rounds? Yes? Then you know that the JUDGES PICKED THE FINALISTS. Why is that so difficult for you mouthbreathers to understand? Go scream at the judges and producers for putting shit singers through to the finals. That or just shut the fuck up. You'll be better off doing either than you are fatfingering your keyboard here. "Defending" American Idol is not exactly taking a bold stance.

But cra8zynut, you and your family can still enjoy the show, regardless of who continues to the end. Everyone but one person will eventually get voted off, so at what point they go I don't think is a big issue. People who are good enough will still get their record contracts, or their shot at Broadway, or an Academy award or whatever. In fact, previous non-winners are doing just as well as winners (unless they really weren't very good). Just because Sanjaya is still on doesn't mean that the show is not a family show anymore. I can only speak for myself, but he *is* extremely entertaining to watch, and that's the only reason I watch the show -- for the entertainment value. Many people seem to feel truly bad about "crushing the dreams of others," but I really don't see that as an issue.

Sanjaya: underdeveloped voice, but performs none the less. Melinda: back-up singer for a reason...no one wants to watch her front-line. Jordin: potential to be a decent performer. Chris: thinks he is Justin Timberlake. Blake: below average voice. Phil: average Joe. Haley: voice not right for pop music.....try Disney soundtracks and movies. Lakisha: decent voice...needs to work on stage presence and look.

angelbug: This site does nothing more than to congregate an impotent bunch of losers that need some way to compensate for their deepest feelings of powerlessness. Basically, their just using a giant TV show to that end. The really pathetic thing is that they actually think they’re achieving something (Maybe that's a good thing but it's still pathetic). I wouldn't worry out them too much.
