Mail Bag Update 4/16/07

I was so mad Wednesday night when they announced that Sanjaya was not in the bottom three and therefore NOT GOING HOME THIS WEEK that I was shaking and in a flood of emotional rage caused by this STUPID website and the people that keep voting for Sanjaya I threw my glass of coke at my FREAKING BRAND NEW 65" HD TV and NOW IT DOESN'T WORK.  So now not only is Sanjaya still on American Idol for another week, thanks to you jerks, I can't even watch the show and the TV warranty won't cover the damage from what I did.  THIS SITE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM SO YOU SHOULD PAY FOR A NEW TELEVISION, which should not be a problem since you are making so much money by trying to ruin American Idol.  Please email back and tell me how you want to pay for the TV.  I have not been able to sleep since Wednesday and I don't think I will be able to until you pay for what you did and Sanjaya is kicked off the show. Please do the right thing and help me.

I am an American Idol viewer and I think it is totally ridiculous what your website is doing. I think American Idol should sew your website. It is because of your website many talented singers are getting voted off. I say this because we all know that Sanjiya can not sing and should have been gone a long time ago. I think that it is very stupid for people to vote for stupid sanjaya or whatever his name is. Its honestly not fair to him after american idol if he wins he will think that america loves him, but in reality we all know he is not that great. My name is Lauren.  I'm now 24.  When I auditioned for AI in NYC, I was only 20.  I don't follow AI anymore b/c I firmly believe that its "purpose" is false and when I heard about "Vote for the Worst" it really hit home.  The supporters and voters of AI are only supporters b/c they have no clue what actually takes place during the audition process. You get thousands of emails a day, but I think you will want to read this.
I might not be the best singer, but I sure as hell know I am 100 times better than half the contestants that you see being laughed at on tv. (some of my original and covers can be heard at www.myspace.com/laurenastott). My experience goes like this and I will make it short and sweet.
-As I approached the audition room, they divided us by race, weight, style, etc.  I was appalled.  They put me in the line with "normal" people as I call it, the nothing special line.  They had a line of just black people, a line of white people, a line of fat people, a line of skinny people, a line of people that looked "freak"ish, a line of people that looked preppy, etc.  It was just unbelievable  and I am in shock that it has been allowed to continue this way.
-nobody ever made any of us contestants aware that the judges in the first round would not be the famous 3
-before you even audition, the judge knows if he's going to let you continue through. The judge I had was named Simon (not Cowell) and he looked me up and down, told me to sing, i literally only got out 5 words, and just looked behind me at the next person and told me, "no."
-one girl made it in my group of 100.  She was a white girl with dreadlocks, that definitely did not have a voice.  She looked "different".  That is why they picked her. It's all about ratings.
Although I refuse to watch AI at all b/c of my own experience, I heard about your website and decided I needed to share my story.  I'd be willing to bet most people who auditioned for AI  fully support your purpose.  Those people who are voters of AI and are against your purpose, have NO idea what they are talking about.

Just for your information; I think you people need to get a life. We don't think this is funny one bit.. You guys say you don't like American Idol, But you sure spend a lot of time talking baout it. If you don't like it or agree with what's going on why not just shut up about it.  There is a lot of talent that you are screwing up.. PLUS>> you don't accomplish anything.. those that don't win still get record deals.. DUH.. So your wasting your time for "something you don't like". seems that you can't sing so you just feel sorry for Sanjaya.. So you do have a heart.. I personally watch this for entertainment.. Hey, the link to your website even found his way to a German newspaper. I never heard of Sanjaya Malakar, Melinda & Co before (thank god!), but I'm sure your efforts to make the show "more entertaining" are worth it. In Germany we are suffering under the same plague, called "Deutschland sucht den Superstar!". Every year the candidates look, sound and behave identically and every damn year 90% of the nation is sick and tired of them after the first show. To make things worse, it's not enough to change the TV channel, because somehow the jury's stupid comments and the candidates' "songs" make their way to every other TV
and radio channel. Something like a German "votefortheworst" would definitely be a good
medicine to heal our TV from the "Deutschland sucht den Superstar!"-disease. Being a patriot, I'll maybe try to initiate this for the next season. Until then, I wish you guys a lot of success - may Sanyaya Malalaka (or whatever his name is) win!

I have recently been made aware of the plans to sabotage American Idol. I currently live in the UK but I'm American who relocated several years ago. Can I just say that with all of the garbage on TV that is poison for kids and teens to watch, this is the first "family" show in the style of the 70's variety shows that has come along to brighten things up in a LONG while.  Some of us prefer not to watch "In the crib" on MTV which used to be a music channel and all of the dramas depicting what real family life is..... which most of the time is plain rubbish. I grew of in the 70's watching shows like Donny & Marie and Tony Orlando and Dawn.  Cheesy yes, but what's wrong with good, clean family entertainment.  At least I was brought up in a society that still respects people and doesn't think the world owes me anything.  I would still help a little old lady across the street for goodness sake! How many young people can you say would do that, or even care? The point I'm trying to make is, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but deliberately trying to squash a show that obviously millions of people enjoy and can watch together as a family is just pathetic. I hope you consider comments like mine and let Howard Stern know that I USED TO think he was funny.

I am tired of stupid people messing with the rest of us.  We don't want you to do that.  You can have all the dump ass ideas in the world and you can play with them and experiment with them but when your stupid ideas start messing with people's lives then you need to stop. 
Reality shows do bite sometimes and they are cheesy and lame but when you find one like American Idol or say you want to mess with an American Icon like  "The Price Is Right" then you mess with American's who are just trying to enjoy their evening of peace and quiet amongst a world of SHIT!!  That is me, a woman who has had a life full of crap and just works her ass off during the day to make a living and have the things around her that make her comfortable.  I come home to an evening of American Idol to watch some dumb ass people experiment with others lives. 
Some of these kids actually have a chance at fame and a life of comfort and ease and you mess it all up.  Who are you and why would you ever do something like that.  Why??  You have to much time on your hands and you are making a living off others discomfort, anger, frustration not to mention sacrifice.  STOP you idiots!!

This website is ridiculous.  Whether or not you like the show, there are really talented individuals that are being sent home.  I don't believe that you have the power that you think you do.  Why?  Because there are thousands of people who have tried out for American Idol and didn't make it and now they want revenge and so does their family and friends.  So, this is what happens. 
Do you have any idea what you are doing to a teenage boy?  You are voting for him because he's the WORST Idol.  You talk and talk about American Idol being a complete sham, well so are the owners of this website and anyone that participates in it's lame propaganda. 
The contestants that have been voted off because of your website should sue you.  In fact, American Idol should sue you.  And yes, that's very possible.  So, while you are out there on your High and Mighty kick, keep in mind that you are ruining Sanjaya's life (he knows he should be gone by now) and all of the talented contestants that have been sent home because of you and your little minions.
Your website isn't helping change American Idol for the better.  In fact, no one cares about your discussions on the auditions.  All American Idol fans know is that you are ruining lives and making this season worthless. 
And, if I were Sanjaya, I'd see you in court as soon as I get voted off (and he will, even you know this will not last).  This website is slander in itself towards him.  He's not famous because of you.  He's infamous.
Don't you think that if American Idol really did all of the awful things you've made so very clear, they would've sabotaged the voting and been rid of Sanjaya long before now?
For those auditioners out there voting in order to sabotage this season, grow up.  You either couldn't sing or you were overlooked.  There's always another season and another audition.  Stop aiding in this because you wouldn't want it to happen to you.
So, Voteworst, instead of putting teenage kids' responses on your website that make them look silly, put this one on.  I'll be waiting.

I don't understand why anyone would want to watch the worst part of American Idol (the humiliating auditions) or extend that portion throughout the season by keeping an untalented person on for the  amusement of others. I never watch the auditions because unlike you sadistic twisted people I am not interested in seeing the mentally ill and untalented humiliated. I just don't find that entertaining. I also do not find it entertaining watching Sanjaya sing week after week. I would have liked to see him go a long time ago as I find it painful to watch. I find your tactics ridiculous and cruel. This young man thinks he is doing well because he is not voted off- kind of like a parent who lies to a kid to make them feel better, which is just as wrong. There is something very wrong with people who find entertainment in cruelly returning an untalented contestant to a talent show to perform in front of millions of people for their sick amusement. This is just a lack of human decency on the part of your voters. I am sure your mother's taught you better. If not, she did not do her job! I just thank God I have TIVO so I don't have to watch every painful second of this travesty! I for one am very disappointed that so many people revel in the humiliation of others. You should all be ashamed of yourselves!

One question...Are you serious? Sanjaya, i mean come on, he freaking sucks.  I can tell that alot of people are getting annoyed with this little freaking site. NOBODY likes hearing sanjaya, he is so gay!! i mean most of your hits are probably from GAY guys, because they think he is pretty.  i mean wtf? what you people are doing is not right.  your taking peoples dreams away, by this i mean, that what if some one is 15 right now and they can't get on the show because they are to young, but they want to wait a couple years, then they want to go on.  and what if they make it, and you guys are stupid and are like oh he/she is good, so lets pick this guy, he sucks. well doing this will ruin the whole show. hmmm...last year.....lets see, it was Taylor hicks, he sucks too, then it was catherine mcphee, after taylor [2nd] then i believe it was elliot, then chris.  and which one of them had a hit, and it was on the radio before the others. YES CHRIS DAUGHTRY had a hit, before freaking catherine mcphee, what a whore, i hate her, she should have never got 2nd, but taylor, i mean gross! did you guys pick him? because he sure damn does suck!!!, and elliot he's ok, but i would have seen a real singer win. I love reading the ridiculous posts coming in trying to slam this wonderful website. It really makes this site really much better. Without those ridiculously funny posts ... this site would be good... with those it makes the site GREAT!! The internet has given us so many entertaining things over the years, and your site ranks right up there at the top.
Your site is hated by many, but loved by MANY MORE!! Bwahhahahaha! See it is difficult for me to maintain my composure and to not LOL! Thanks to the success of your site and bringing back live situational comedy back to Television. Now come on... a Pony Hawk... how is that not just the funniest thing ever?
