Well now the show sucks! But hey, great job, Sanjaya!

Well it couldn't last forever! Great work everyone on helping Sanjaya make the top 7, he's now the all time VFTW record holder. But as classic Worsters know, we always move on to someone new. Who will it be? Phil? Chris? Someone else? Sound off on the message board and let us know your opinion. We'll have an informal poll up soon to see what the general consensus is. It's so sad to lose our VFTW king, but we can't stop bugging the producers, they'd like that too much! So stay tuned and let's remember how much fun it was to help keep Sanjaya in the running for so long! Time to move on to Idol Gives Back, where the producers get corporations to donate money yet donate nothing out of their own ridiculously huge paychecks!

I'm a musician for over 15 years now, i've been classically trained on the piano and my voice.. AND AMERICAN IDOL IS NOT ABOUT SINGING... It's a popularity contest. screw the "love for the music" , it's who the popular vote wants to win. We threw our votes behind our Sanjaya, and there weren't enough of us. So get over your-classically-trained-musician-self and lighten up IT'S A BLOODY TV SHOW... *gosh* __________________________

Phil is bad, but not so bad he's great, like Sanjaya. This is an amazing website and I will be back next season, but I don't think I can muster the same support for Phil. He doesn't have the spark. And that sort of slick mainstream country he was singing makes me want to hurl. oh well, was fun while it lasted.

I, for one, am very suspicious. I'm not an AI fan, but I have voted for Sanjaya every week. Last night I voted 7 times, and I know plenty of other people who have done the same. Could it be rigged?

38, 33, 30 million who cares - at least now we can get on with the competition. I will say this though - NOW each and every one left had better step up their game. Phil is not amazing - he could be next if he doesnt step up his game. Lakisha will come back next week. But let me go out on a limb here.......Jordin will take it all! Well, that's my predicition. It'll be between her and Melinda.

I knew something was up this week. Simon blasted Sanjaya and he smiled a little too hard tonight. We have to regroup and vote for Phil now. __________________________

That's just plain ignorant. Thanks for degrading women some more. And if you r a women u don't deserve to be one. LaKisha and Melinda can sing circles around u. Melinda will probably win. WHich by the way is a good thing. And Sanjaya after the tour what's left for him commercials hahahahahahaha.

7 times? i voted over 300 times..... first time voting... it just wasn't enough.. the concentration was getting higher and higher on the other contestants.. WE NEED TO RALLY MORE SUPPORT> I say phil is the new vftw candidate. not that i can rally behind him like sanjaya. I liked Sanjaya from auditions, so i dunno if i can get behind phil.. but i guess it's possible.

Who can think of who to vote for now? I'm still in the throws of almost unbearable grief over the dismissal of our sweet, lovable, huggable, favorite Sanjaya. The thought of voting for anyone else right now just turns my stomach! I still need time to grieve man!

well sure... and I'm sure that was the case... my point is if it was a conspiracy by AI to kick Sanjaya off the show tonight (and not due to the lack of votes), then what stopped them from doing it before? Don't look for a reason to blame... just accept that the "classically trained musician" who commented earlier is right. People know good music when they hear it (for the most part). Popularity contest or not... you don't get popular on this show unless you can at least hold a decent note... Sanjaya couldn't, so he's gone. Good ridance.
