| I love this idea but I think next week is when our votes make corporate America pay money to help the kids in Africa.
On one hand, it would be awesome to see the vote count drop but, on the other hand, it would be great to have Coke pony up more money to sponsor this show. What to do?!?!
If the vote count does drop, would Ryan even announce the vote totals?

| I liked Sanjaya not because of (well maybe a little) but in spite of his minimal singing ability. As someone said in another post, when we look at 2007 trivia a decade from now, we will all remember Sanjaya much more than whatever karoke singer eventually wins this beauty pagent.
Now I am ready to vote for the contestant that will most get under the skin of not just the judges but also the producers and moneymakers behind AI.
When thinking of who the next worster should be, I try and think of who would be the least attractive from a celebrity and albulm standpoint. Based on that viewpoint, I rule out Blake and Chris. They may not be great singers but with a studio mixer and the right songs, their minimal talent could be concealed. And with a bit of tweaking of their image, they would fit right in with the teenybopper, generic, boy band type singer. AI can probably sell either of these guys.
Melinda & Jordan are the cream of the crop talent wise and shouldn't be up for worster status.
This leaves Phil and LaKisha. I voted for Phil as my worster choice because I think he is the least talented. But there is a part of me that would be quite happy with Lakisha. Talentwise, she seems to run hot and cold but can you picture AI trying to spin her as a celebrity and Idol with her absolute lack of personality? Even with her bit of talent, she would be a one album and done performer. |

| The fix was in. American Idol is a effing money machine for the producers and Fox. They will do whatever it takes to get the results that are best for them. GUARANTEED.
The record number of votes cast were due to Idol Producer/Fox computer phone banks casting millions of votes for everyone BUT Sanjaya. Plus Idol reserves the right to delete ANY votes it wants to for ANY reason. No evidence is required whatsoever. It is all done behind closed doors with zero accountability. That is a hard combo to beat.
Sanjaya got ROBBED, CHEATED and JOBBED.
The show is a sham and everybody knows it.

| Maybe Phil could start wearing a wig of the week instead of those ridiculous hats. Or perhaps a Bandanya (worn in memory of Sanjaya). I don't mean to be cruel, but he reminds me of a poster boy for childhood cancer. Ick--too creepy.
Now that Chris is a real cocky no talent who we could play with by inflating his already puffy ego--all that nasal intake has gone to swell his head? It would be fun to see THAT bubble burst. He's a composite of every K-Fed/Timberlake/Maroon Five back row singer, who ought to be playing at some second rate 6 Flags part this summer.
Then there is Lakitha--I mean really--an idol with a speech impediment?!? Even my kids could totally hear her lisping her songs while I was keeping my "politically correct mouth" shut--then I had to burst out laughing when out of the mouths of babes!
Blake--I don't get--he seems very brit-femme to me, and there is something disturbingly weird that he does with his lip when he sings--anyone else notice that?!?
I'd be fine with whoever VFTW picks--they are all so terrible compared to past year, except one, who I cannot mention on the Worst site.

| If we only chose one candidate and stopped voting once they got eliminated, then we never would've voted for Sanjaya in the first place, because he didn't become the VFTW candidate until the top 12. It was Antonella Barba and Sundance Head before then. VFTW has never been about voting for a "favorite". Although we did legitimately like Sanjaya, we voted for him because he was was everything that American Idol stood against. He was the anti-American Idol. Dave said himself that if Chris Sligh were on once Sanjaya got eliminated, that he would've made him the next worster. The candidate we choose has to be someone that goes against the norm, that goes against "mainstream". Phil is the only reasonable candidate, because he is just creepy and odd, and would make a rediculous American Idol. If we voted for anyone other than him, we're losing the point behind this website. It's not about "worst", as in the worst singer. It's about who would make the worst American Idol. American Idol, by definition, means mainstream crap that the producers hand-picked. Even though the judges didn't particularly like Chris's performance the other day, he still fits under the category of "mainstream", because he's a Justin Timberlake ripoff. The only thing Phil is ripping off is Powder. (that movie from the mid-90's) |

| I vote for Phil personally because he's a nice guy, has a pretty good voice, and is the only worster left (Chris, Lakisha, Blake, Phil) who doesn't seem to be on a constant ego trip. So what if he's a little boring and odd-looking, he is humble and always looks thankful that he is still on the show and doesn't feel like he's God's gift to American Idol aka Chris, Blake, and Lakisha. |
