Is Jordin Sparks going to get preachy once Idol is over?

Is Jordin Sparks an ultra conservative Christian? One would never guess this from her time on the show since she's all smiles, but it seems that the pimped one might be a little more political than anyone thinks. The picture on the left comes from Jordin's MySpace, and she's been linked to many conservative organizations. She has performed at a Right to Life concert (anti-abortion) and other such events, and it's rumored that she liked Mandisa from last year because of her values (Mandisa was very religious and was quoted as saying she would be uncomfortable singing at a gay event). Jordin can have any opinion she'd like, and it doesn't take away from the fact that she's a good singer, but it seems like her "I love everyone" personality may turn evangelistic once Idol is over. I guess we'll find out once she's off the show.

People did not vote for

People did not vote for Blake because they disliked him for his beatboxing, thinking it was immature. So it's not different for people not to vote for Jordin because she is religious. It's unfair that she kept these opinions of hers a secret!

I SUPPORT ABORTION BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT I DO WITH MY BODY. If you haven't noticed, overpopulation is a major problem right now. So saving the "life" of a fetus isn't going to help. It's basically an unfertilized fetus, an egg if you will, so I don't know where this "murder of a baby" is coming from.
I SUPPORT GAYS BECAUSE THEY'RE BORN THAT WAY. It is in the genetics, & to shun them from society because of your "insecurity" & because of what's in a book (the Bible) is cruel!
I DON'T SUPPORT RELIGIOUS PEOPLE WHO GO AROUND SHOUTING THEIR OWN OPINION. I have my religion, you have yours! I'm Atheist & don't believe in God, you're Christian & you do. I'm fine with that, but to say that somehow your religion matters more than mine & therefore deserves a political advantage is WRONG.

I'm 15-years old & against all religion. So sue me.

Dear Wenddyy: Even if I

Dear Wenddyy:

Even if I disagreed with you (which I don't!), I would still defend your right to express your opinion, particularly in the passionate, reasonable and respectful manner that you utilized.

There will be some who do disagree with you (and, since I agree with you, they'll be disagreeing with me, too); I hope that, if they decide to post their opinions, they would state their disagreements in the same manner that you stated your opinion. And, Wenddyy, there will be MANY OF US HERE AT VFTW that will have your back, Sister Girl! :-)

You're 15 years old? WOW! You have a terrific future, Wenddyy...keep on expressing your opinions, and keep on fighting for what YOU know is right! You seem to be an amazing young woman; thank you for posting here!

And PLEASE come back to ALL the threads on VFTW to post more of your thoughts and opinions!

With MUCH Respect,

M-Dawg

I love how people are so up

I love how people are so up in arms about this. All we said was "Hey, the cameltoed bitch may be anti-abortion". OMG LET'S ALL ARGUE ABOUT IT!!!! ;-)

Dear Dave: AMEN, BRO!

Dear Dave: AMEN, BRO! There are now over 150 responses to your original post. Clearly, this is something that folks wanted/needed to discuss. Tnank you (and Deb!) again for making all of this possible. As always, my Brilliant Leader, HUZZAH! xo, M-Dawg

Good grief! You libs will do

Good grief! You libs will do anything to bring down a talented CHRISTIAN artist won't you? We don't live in the old Soviet Union, China or even England of old. The shame is disparaging a teenager for having the guts to take a stand on a really important issue like abortion and for libs like the publisher of this site and others to rake her over the coals. None of you libs are happy unless everyone is following your agendas...that's socialism and it doesn't work...

Left me see now. It would be

Left me see now. It would be okay if she carried a sign with a pro-abortion sign, that would be an acceptable "mainstream" opinion to express. What a bunch of hypocrites. You all screamed bloody murder when the dickless chicks CD sales plummeted after they committed the most cowardly act in England. Personally I was not bothered by what they said but that they did not have to courage to say it at a concert in the Huston Astro Dome. You don't complain when singers call Fidel Castro and Che Guevara "Heroes." And can someone please explain to me how a person can support the taking of innocent like (murder) but protest against the killing of murderers (not murder)? Being pro-life and pro-death penalty is not contradictory. Both adhere the protection of innocent life. I don't look toward performers for any moral bearing. No sane person should. "Shut Up And Sign."

Dear fushgutz: Sigh...

Dear fushgutz: Sigh... Why IS it that all you haters on this site have THE WORST spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage skills? Don't you all know that this drives M-Dog batty??? Are you ALL from the same hillbilly town? Are you all inbred mongloids? Are you all moonshine swiggin', sibling fuckin', grampa suckin', meth snortin', heroin shootin', trailer park livin', chaw chewin', ignorant two-toothed REASONS FOR LAWS ALLOWING SOME FORCED ABORTIONS? Yeah...I guess I'm getting tired of all this holier-than-thou pontificating... And the rationale!!! No on abortion but yes on the death penalty! Stupid fucktard... Seriously, Little Miss, I wouldn't be in favor for forced abortions...that's a horrible statement, and I apologize for that. But I sure as hell mean everything else I wrote. WTF!!!???!!! "SHUT UP AND SIGN?" I imagine that our hearing-impaired sisters and brothers (and their supporters, which should be all of us) will give a well-deserved shout-out for this clever line...but, of course, WE ALL KNOW THAT YOU DIDN'T MEAN IT THAT WAY, DUMBASS!!! Dave and The Gang...isn't it maddening to read this runny and chunky diarrhea every day? AYE CARUMBA! Fishgutz...take your woeful smackass and look at Kooky's and J Penar's posts regarding this topic...and, for the goddess' sake, PICK UP A FIRST GRADE READER! It may be challenging at first, but you'll zoom right to the second grade reader in a few years with some practice... M-Dawg P.S. -- THE DIXIE CHICKS ROCK, SHIT-FOR-BRAINS!

You know? Fishgutz is right,

You know? Fishgutz is right, you people are the biggest hypocrites. You'll support murdering an innocent baby yet call it cruel when a murderer is punished. And, btw, you might want to stay away from criticizing someone's grammar during an argument. It makes it look like you're just trying to find something to bitch about.

Dear Grant McGee:

Dear Grant McGee: Thanks for the head's up, but it's not necessary...because I AM INDEED BITCHING ABOUT POOR SPELLING, GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION AND USAGE SKILLS. Have you read some of the ridiculous crap that's posted on this site -- primarily by VFTW haters/AI worshipers? Now, Grant McGee, I feel that YOU and fishgutz are the hypocrites. You support state-sanctioned murder, but not state-sanctioned abortions to save a mother's life -- not to mention state-sanctioned services to all babies born. So...kind of a Mexican Standoff, no? We all have different opinions, dipshit...and THANK THE GODDESS that Dave has given us the opportunity to post our different opinions on his wonderful site! PRAISE DAVE! M-Dawg

Taking the life of a baby

Taking the life of a baby because the mother could die is not what I was talking about. I was talking about the people on here who want kill the baby because they couldn't keep it in the pants. Those are the murderers.

First of all, I find it

First of all, I find it amazing, the number of conservative right-wingers, that frequent this site. This really doesn't strike me as a "fundie" kinda hang out, and I'm quite sure Dave never intended it to be, but I digress... To quote: "so most of those ppl who comments are in favor of killing the babies ar over age 25 and have become dense and hard core." The fact that no one in any of these replies has stated their age notwithstanding, it's called life experience, education, learning and growing up. kitkatz, if that is indeed your real name, YOU and your ilk are the type of people who put ACTUAL Christians in a bad light. Christ was ALL about TOLERANCE, charity, respect, forgivness, ACCEPTANCE, love your neighbor...I could go on and on. The teachings of Christ have been utterly twisted and PERVERTED by you hate-mongering, bigoted, homophobic, self-righteous radical Evangelists (Thank you Mr Bush!). You people are NOT God, you do NOT speak for Him, you do NOT know His thoughts or wishes, you do NOT know His plans for ME, or anyone else! REAL Christians understand that there is free will in God's universe and that ONLY God can condem a person. I won't even get into the abortion debate, because last time I read MY King James Bible, there was no mention of abortion, or have you people rewritten the Bible as you want to rewrite the Constitution? There is no more hypocritical lot than you radical right wingers who insist you're doing God's work, while at the same time hating, stoning, stringing up and condeming ANYone who dares not think like you, even on the simplist, most irrelevant issue. Did you "forget" the owner of this site is gay? How dare you invade HIS home and piss all over his carpet. It makes me sick, and extremely sad for this country. You hard core, radical right wing fundamentalists are not doing God's work, you are doing the Devils work, because everything you preach is inherently evil to the core, you have driven uncountable numbers of people away from God, and Satan smiles. As far as I'm concerned, if there is a hell, it will most certainly be filled with people like you, NOT my Catholic, liberal, humanity loving, lesbian self. Thank you very much.

Dear Whisp: Your post

Dear Whisp: Your post was breathtakingly brilliant...BRILLIANT! With Many Thanks, M-Dawg

I'm pretty sure I read in

I'm pretty sure I read in some celeb magazine that Jordin has toured with Michael W Smith- a (born again?) Christian singer. The whole anti- abortion thing isn't really all that shocking but it definitely trashes her I Love Everyone image.

I like Jordin even more now!

I like Jordin even more now! Here's what I have a problem with: "One would never guess this from her time on the show since she's all smiles" What? People who truly love God and know God loves them are often the happiest people! It makes total sense that she's "all smiles". "it seems like her "I love everyone" personality may turn evangelistic once Idol is over." I think your opinion about Christianity is misguided. The heart of Christianity is exactly that - to love everyone. Her "I love everyone" personality is because she is Christian! And how do you show you love everyone more than to oppose the killing of the most innocent among us - little babies in the womb!

Umm... ok so what? Its not a

Umm... ok so what? Its not a crime to be against these things. So what if Jordin is a fundie... we do have freedom of religion in this country. Note: Im a libertarian.

More than 70 percent of ppl

More than 70 percent of ppl under age 25 are against abortion...so most of those ppl who comments are in favor of killing the babies ar over age 25 and have become dense and hard core. There are plenty of atheists and agnostics against abortion...you don't ahve to be a christian to be against abortion. Heck, allthe muslims are against abortion and religious jews think itis murder. And all my atheist friends think abortion is murder. Bringing the baby out except its head and sucking its brains out is barbarious (spell?) and injecting saline (burning) solution to kill the baby in the womb is also sickening and crushing it, tearing apart its limbs (arms and legs) is also so horrible it is hard to believe we call it a woman's right. Bunch of sickos in Congress right now. feminist for abortion are a bunch of hate mongers. to those of you over 25 who love to hate ppl who are for life keep pursuing your sick ideas and your death culture...you'll meet death...sooner than you think..you will find what you seek... soon there will be no more democrats because they will die of drugs, drunk driving, stds, AIDs, breast cancer (they've had an abortion), commit suicide or die from the side effects of those antidepressants ---and they kill off future democrats by not allowing them to live. why are u pro-murder choice ppl so miserable? because you pursue misery and you pursue death.. IDOL contestants for the most part are pursuing life.

More than 70% huh? Where are

More than 70% huh? Where are you getting your statistics- the Army of God website? But thanks for the laugh, I needed that today. It's because of ignorant people like you that women's lives are in danger everyday. And I wish that everyone who speaks out as "pro-life" would speak to a woman who has to choose her life or her baby because of cancer and other deadly diseases. You all speak of abortion as killing- sometimes NOT having an abortion is deadly. And breast cancer is NOT linked to having an abortion. Those of you that are "pro-life" need to start adopting children in this country and legislating for welfare, education and universal healthcare for poor and single moms/families. You want to make sure the babies are born- but once they're here you don't want to do anything to help them. Kitkatz- you seem to have some anger issues. Maybe you should talk to your priest about that, it's not healthy.

Dear kitkatz: You are an

Dear kitkatz: You are an evil, sick fucking nutjob. If there is a hell, you will most surely burn for eternity there. No god would surely want your skanky, stanky ass. But thanks, Sugar, for proving my point that a great many of you right-wingers are hateful, ignorant and evil. And crazy...WAY crazy. M-Dawg P.S. -- And, as with the vast majority of you VFTW haters, your spelling, punctuation, grammar and usage skills are horrendous. That means, fucktard, REALLY, REALLY BAD. You stupid hillbilly...stop picking your two teeth, airing out your trailer, swigging your moonshine, screwing your daddy, smoking your meth and PICK UP A BOOK. Start with a Dick, Jane and Sally reader, and see where you are in 5-6 months. And, remember...reading is FUNdamental!

For the most part the

For the most part the contestants are pursuing life? So some of them are pursuing what - death? I guess you mean Phil, who we all know is a vampire... And you heard it here first, every aborted foetus is a Democrat!

I hate Jordin with every

I hate Jordin with every fiber in my body and mind. She is fat and has big ugly lips and her smile repells me into a state of nausea that seeks for recovery. The only people that keep voting for her are most likely other rightwing prolife fucktards! Its no surprise that my neurological intuitions projected correctly. That picture says so many words "STOP ABORTION NOW"? Well what do you expect, Rupert Murdoch is the one running Fox. oh here I go on my political tangins...

If you're married, get

If you're married, get pregnant, and have an abortion, you're a murderer. If you're unmarried, get pregnant, and have an abortion, you're two things: a whore and a murderer. So what if birth control methods don't work 100% of the time. I'm offering some free advice. If you can't take the consequences, keep it in the pants. Are you really going to sacrifice a child's life for your own pleasure?

Aww, come on. Don't be

Aww, come on. Don't be hatin' on Christian/Pro-life people. I am one, and we aren't all like those in-your-face, rude, legalistic, hateful people (*cough* FRED PHELPS *cough*) that tend to get the Media's attention. Consider Sligh, who was a Christian worship leader for his church back home... did that stop him from braving the rath of Idol producers and giving Dave a shout out on live TV??? Christians have senses of humor too, you know. We don't all have our panties in a wad. It's like that T-shirt Ellen DeGenerous is selling on her show - "I LOVE JESUS... but I drink a little." I wish I had that shirt. Anyway... Let's give her the benefit of the doubt that the girl just wants to sing for a living, regardless of her politial/social beliefs, and is hoping Idol will give her that chance.

Dear J Penar: You're

Dear J Penar: You're absoltetly right...she's only 17, and she may (particularly if she delves deeply and quickly in the music-making business) discard all the Fred Phelps/Jerry Fallwell/Pat Robertson/Lou Sheldon hatred and bigotry (if, of course, she has that in her right now), and retains the parts of Christianity that center around service, humanity and, most importantly, love. You have to admit, however, that all the jerks I've named above (PARTICULARLY Fred Phelps) make it difficult to believe that there are Christian pro-lifers who aren't ready to kill you, your significant other/partner and your kids because they read it someplace in the Bible. However, J Penar, there ARE folks like you...that is VERY comforting to know. Love, Peace and Respect for ALL, M-Dawg

Thats Awesome, Im glad that

Thats Awesome, Im glad that someone as popular as her has such outstanding values, I am also pro-life and she was already my favorite. Hopefully she will be able to have a positive influence on America !!!

Ugh. I KNEW there was

Ugh. I KNEW there was something I didn't like about her. FEE FI FO FUM...I smell the blood of a PRO-LIFER!

In addition to what I have

In addition to what I have just said, I would like to clarify the following things: 1. I support Jordin's right to display her right-wing politics (or the aping of her parents' right wing politics) on her personal blog. 2. I do not have to like or agree with her opinion. 3. I was not voting for her anyway. Also, this is a personal tic of mine...but it really pisses me off when MEN get really self-righteous and pro-lifey. WTF! YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THE CHOICE TO MAKE. So of course it's easy for you to say it's wrong.

Last I checked, it took a

Last I checked, it took a man to make a baby. It's their child too.

Dear Sophie: You are

Dear Sophie: You are absolutely correct; however, there are exceptions to this when women use anonymously donated sperm. M-Dawg

Dear XsaturngirlX:

Dear XsaturngirlX: RIGHT ON!!! ALL that you've posted above is dead-on correct! M-Dawg

Nightwing: For completely

Nightwing: For completely agreeing that men should have no say in this argument, you appear to be the most vocal of anyone. As a side note, this string really detracts from the otherwise enjoyable experience of this site. Whether your're Pro-life, Pro-choice, Anti-choice, Pro-death, whatever, did any of you log on to VFTW to be reading about abortion today? Also, last I checked "My"space is supposed to be filled with your thoughts and opinions. When everyone complains about there being too many Christians on right now, did you ever stop to consider the alternative? Six Chris Richardson's? Really what's more annoying? Reading a sign, or listening to that legimate pro-choice argument?

Dear Galexy9: You outed

Dear Galexy9: You outed me as a man! You deceitful bitch! :-) Look, dumbfuck...this is what xsaturngirlx wrote: Also, this is a personal tic of mine...but it really pisses me off when MEN get really self-righteous and pro-lifey. WTF! YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THE CHOICE TO MAKE. So of course it's easy for you to say it's wrong. Galexy9, you ignorant slut! Xsaturngirlx didn't say that all men shouldn't express an opinion on this issue...do you need to pull your head out of your ass and away from your monitor for a moment? Secondly, there have been over 100 posts in this thread...so, apparently, shit-for-brains, people (like YOUR stupid ass) are chiming in. Sheesh! What in the hell were you thinking when you drafted that post? Now, Galexy9, I'm really, REALLY trying to use less...colorful...language on this site. My apologies...but PLEASE try to understand exactly what you're posting before you post. Your opinion is valid, of course; but, c'mon! Making a sweeping generalization that's incorrect is pretty much asking for a response of one sort or other... M-Dawg M-Dawg

Nightwing: Although you

Nightwing: Although you obviously have very deeply seeded anger issues that could only stem from childhood molestation, you really need to reign those hostilities in and try reading what other people write. There were no "sweeping generalizations" that I posted, and yes I did post on the thread, but unlike a lot of other people, didn't post how I felt about the issue one way or the other, only my opinion about the thread itself (and my inherrent hate for Timberfake). For someone that constantly berades other peoples obvious lack of intelligence, you continually shoot your own self in the head.

It saddens me to see the

It saddens me to see the religious discrimination against Jordin among posters who say they won't vote for her because she is pro-life. Too bad some people can't look past their own bias. I'm a VFTW fan, and am happy to see the website persist despite attempts to shut it down. LONG LIVE FREEDOM OF SPEACH! Let's not kill it here.

I am a Christian and am

I am a Christian and am pro-CHOICE; the concept of "freedom of speech" doesn't exist on the AI boards in the case of Jordin.... if you want to mention Jordin's politics, be prepared to be gagged. TPTB don't want us to know much about this subject. Makes me think she's their choice to win.

Again delilah, why pray tell

Again delilah, why pray tell would you or anyone else feel the need to make this some big conspiracy? I am a fan of AI, although never really particularly cared who won the show in any year before. I however do want Jordin to win, and wanted her to win before and AFTER all this came out. Personally, I always found this whole site to be a little pathetic... just being honest. I have read the reasons for it, and I can understand the frustration if the selection process for auditions and the contestants on the show is as described. However, I still find it a little ridiculous that people would spend however many hours a week watching and trying to sabotage a show that they don't even like or agree with just to entertain themselves. Just seems like that time could be used more productively to me. However, just because the show's producers may manipulate SOME things, or even perhaps many things, that doesn't mean they manipulate everything. I read some of the stuff here, and get the feeling some people think the AI producers are manipulating secretive world affairs and think they're setting up the NWO and working with the aliens. Some of the things said really seem that silly to me. If you were "silenced" by someone on the AI boards, I think there's a much more rational reason why that happened. Subjects such as this often lead to intense arguments, and if you disagreed with Jordin's "politics" and said so, most Jordin fans would probably either ignore you or take that as negativity, and probably rightfully so. Aside from that, it's completely off topic. Jordin's beliefs on the show should be secondary to her singing abilities, since it is in fact a singing competition, and not a political debate or discussion. I'm not saying that to make fun of you, and I'm not trying to be personal. But I don't see the need to make it seem like such a conspiracy.

Dear VFTB012: Your

Dear VFTB012: Your pontificating notwithstanding, you certainly should be allowed to post your opinion and points of view as you see fit...as should Delilah. Clearly, she had the need to explain why she thinks a conspiracy is underfoot; you have, of course, the right on this site to counter that. No need to question her motivation, Lover. Hers I completely understand; yours, being ponderous and much longer, doesn't say much. It certainly misses the point of why this site exists, and that different posters post...well, VFTB012, different posts. Kinda' happens when divergent opinions (including yours) appears on forums such as VFTW. You certainly have the right to think that any or all points of view posted on this site that YOU feel are "conspiracy" theories are "silly." Dig it! I, on the other hand, think that your pseudo-religious/psycho-babble/good cop blatherings are annoying as fuck. The fact that you make a backhanded disparagement regarding Delilah (and, by extension, others) who question the producers' motives regarding this REALITY TELEVISION SHOW is breathtakingly idiotic. Like many of your ilk, you take this REALITY TELEVISION show way too seriously. You state that this site is "pathetic" in your view, and its posters could spend their time more productively? Sheesh... 1. I feel that pointing out the obvious hypocrisy and mendacity of this television show is a VERY important undertaking. This type of garbage needs to be off television; it's clearly affecting the minds of numerous American Idiots already (VFTB012, how in the hell can you miss the posts that your VFTW compadres post here? Down my way, we call this being "mother-fucking disingenuous"...) It doesn't promote honesty and fair play; it promotes personality, which it doesn't admit. You say that it's a SINGING COMPETITION? Get your head out of your gruel, man. 2. And what about your peeps? They are CONSTANTLY on this site, spewing hate, ignorance, sexism, racism, homophobia - and doing it with HORRENDOUS spelling, grammar, usage and punctuation skills. VFTB012, isn't that a...lil' bit...PATHETIC...to say the least? I have never watched an entire AI episode (I just saw 20 minutes of the "AI wants some credibility so we'll give some money to the poor, boost our ratings, and have Celine Deon sing with Dead Elvis" episode); it sounds monstrously gross, sickening and indecent. Reading about it, however, is a gosh-darned hoot! And reading posts from folks like you...well, I gotta' admit, it's a fascinating treat...just like not being able to look away from a car accident on an interstate. I'm counting on you to read this, digest this, and spew out some "spank me on the hand" treatise. Please don't disappoint me, Lover! Hasta, M-Dawg

Good lord. Ok. 1) Freedom of

Good lord. Ok. 1) Freedom of speech applies to everyone, even speech we may not like. Jordin has every right to post her views to her blog, you just don't have to agree with them. I don't, but I respect her right to have them (even if, by my reckoning, they're wrong). 2) Religion is, for lack of a better word, mind control. It always has been and always will be. It is other people (priests, rabbis, imams, clergy of any kind) telling what and how to think about certain issues. Now it is up to you wether you listen or believe what they are telling you. 3) The more fundamentalist your view, the louder you scream it, because the smaller your group really is. Which people do you think make the most noise about Abortions or Gays. You might like to know that it is the small minority of the Religious Right that has gotten so good at loud yelling and scare tactics, that policy is being set by the minoriy, not he majority. Now, while this is not always a bad thing (Think Integration Laws), it has dissadvantages. Those on the right of *any* issue find that fear is usually the best way to influence the outcome. (ie. P1-"So I have a friend who was killed by an illegal immigrant so we should ban them all", P2-"Bu aren't more murders committed by legal residents than illegal immigrants?", P1-"You just don't understand the seriousness of this issue. this illegal immigrant killed my friend. We have to get hem all out." ect. ect. ect. [And yes, I have had that very debate]). To sum up. Respect others right to have differing opinions, no matter how wrong they are. Realize that any group that tries to tell you what to think or how to act is doing so for their own purpose. And finally, don't let fear steer your life. I hope his helps calm some of you down. For those of you who dissagree with me, bring it on ;) -M-Dog

I will hold back my comments

I will hold back my comments (I am 150% PRO CHOICE) regarding abortion, but I have to say one thing: Jordin can have her views all she wants. But when she starts to preach it to others (as she is doing on her myspace with that photo), that's where it crosses the line. Have your views, live your life however the heck you want to, but please, by all means, do not force your OPINION on others. Oh and Jordin will not win American Idol.

I would love to know how

I would love to know how posting something to her myspace account constitues forcing her opinion on anyone. Nobody forced you to look at her blog. Even preaching is protected under the first amendment. You don't have to listen. Click another link, change the channel, walk away. It's that simple.

I feel that way, too. I

I feel that way, too. I used to really like Bruce Springsteen until he started supporting all his liberal cohorts. I think entertainers should be entertaining and stop preaching their opinions, whether they be liberal or conservative. I just don't care what they think. Certainly, people can think what they want and express their opinions, just not on my dime. I dislike the way really liberal people seem to want to force their opinions on everyone and then hate on anyone that doesn't agree. And I don't like it when really conservative people try to say that everyone who disagrees with them is evil.

When was the last time

When was the last time someone spoke out on your dime? So, because you bought "Born In The USA" (apparently not understanding it, if you're just realizing Bruce Springsteen is a liberal) in the 80's, so now he can't speak out?

And just what exactly is

And just what exactly is wrong with posting your own photos and your own opinions on your own blog? Surely you aren't suggesting that we're only entitled to our opinions as long as we keep them to ourselves! What's the point of having freedom of speech? I seriously doubt that anyone has been FORCED to read anything she might have posted on MySpace, ThySpace, or anywhere else on the web. Whether I agree with her or not, she has the same right, and the same freedom, to express her opinion as everyone else has. Unless it violates her AI contract. "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to shut up." - Anonymous

I seem to remember saying

I seem to remember saying that I don't give a crap if she's pro-life, pro-choice or whatever the heck. Everyone has a RIGHT to their opinion. I personally think it's ridiculous to post a photo of yourself with a VERY controversial topic on a very popular networking site, but oh well, it won't affect my career. If she was some regular girl, it's a whole different story. But she IS in the spotlight, which people seem to forget. She's now a "celebrity" and she's trying to win a competition to get a record deal. There are people out there that WILL NOT vote for her based on things she does (see Antonella). I personally refuse to vote for her, but NOT because of her views, moreso because I dislike her greatly anyway. Oh and for the record, I've seen that pic about 3 times BEFORE VFTW posted it.

Yeah, don't force your

Yeah, don't force your opinion on people. Good thing Dave put it right on the front page so you all would be aware of how she is pushing it. I'm sure this was all just a reminder since everyone had seen this before. Damn Christians with their free speech and assembly crap. Voting people into office, getting laws changed. Friggin subversives, some US senator should hold hearings on it if you want my opinion. Not that I am forcing or anything. I just can't believe there's been this many posts and no solution to this dilemma yet.

The photo in question looks

The photo in question looks photochopped to me.

At first I thought that, but

At first I thought that, but it was on her actual public page for music, so unless someone hacked her account, I don't see how it could have been.

Okay I dont get how this

Okay I dont get how this works. Who cares, everyone has there opinions and beliefs. Hate to shock you but yes even actors, singers and other entertainers do. Why do i get the feeling if she was hardcore libral no one would give a shit. At least she stands for something which is more then I can say for any other contestant on the show right now. This is coming from someone who's neither on the side of the conservitives or the librals. so consider it ubiased. I'm just tired of all the hypocrysy.

I have been checking out

I have been checking out VFTW for awhile - basically to read the updates, support the cause :-P, and read the hilarious commentary. However, the above posting about Jordin Sparks' using her American Idol status to support a belief that is probably mostly religious-based caused me to finally register and say something. I realize this is VFTW and not some great grandstand or pro-choice organization, but I would like to have my opinion out there because frankly, I hardly ever read about someone sharing the same beliefs as me. Here it goes... I find it amazing how many people whose political beliefs are ruled by their religious affiliation cannot separate the difference between those beliefs and United States law. I, for one, consider myself as a practicing, devout Christian, but I am not blinded by my religion and realize we still live in America. I support the pro-choice movement because, as stated in our Constitution, this country supports freedom of religion and Christian churches' beliefs should NOT dictate the law. As so many have stated before, pro-choice is about allowing both options: the option to abort the fetus or the option to keep it. (Now, I understand there are certain pro-life supporters that choose this side not because of religious beliefs, but because they believe it to be murder – which is a whole sticky subject in itself. I could start a whole argument here, but alas, this is not the time or place...) I am just upset with people not being able to look outside their religion when it comes to the entire country. If your beliefs constrict the beliefs of others, then it should NOT become a law. I find it simple. But also, for all the religious folks out there that are pushing pro-life as a law, maybe you should read this passage from the Old Testament: Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord of God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul." Until man breathes, man is not yet alive. - Noelle

O.k., I now feel a little

O.k., I now feel a little bit more of an urge to reply after reading Noelle's response. First of all, let me say that I too am a christian. Now in saying that, it is not my place to judge anyone for their beliefs or anything they have done. I could get into a very long story about how I came to a new understanding of the thought process and internal struggle and guilt, sometimes years after the fact, a woman can go through when she does decide to abort her baby. Now I still believe abortion is wrong, and I still believe it is a sin... but certainly not an unforgivable one. Having said that, the whole "pro choice vs. anti-choice" argument is bunk. First of all choice is an inherent right that all human beings have and one that no man or woman and not even any law can take away. "Pro choicers" want to argue that Roe vs. Wade gave a woman the right to choose. It did not. Women had the right to choose before then, and they will always have the right to choose, no matter what laws are passed or not passed. But with choice comes consequence. Sometimes those consequences are good, and sometimes they're not so good. The point is most abortions take place because an initial choice was made to have unprotected sex, and then the women decided she didn't want to deal with the consequences of her choice. For all the emotional appeals about rape, incest, and child and mother health concerns, those incidences are in the EXTREME minority of statistical reasons given for abortions. The vast majority of the time abortions take place AFTER a consentual choice was made, and the woman, or man, or both don't want to deal with or feel like they can't deal with the consequences... even though I know it's hard for some people to be in that situation at that time.. I'm not disputing that. But when we're talking about a woman's right to choose what to do with her body, we're not talking about whether or not she should be able to get a nose job or a tattoo. There are very few scientists who would attempt to make the argument that life does not begin at conception. Even some of the prominent abortion and pro choice rights advocates admit it does. The attempted argument lies in "when" an embryo becomes human, which again to me is bunk. To Noelle, I very respectfully disagree with your point about when man becomes "alive". Your scripture choice is relevant, but as one professing christian to another, I would point out Luke Chapter 1 when John at 6 months old lept in his mother's womb upon sensing Christ in Mary's womb. I could say more, but this open venue probably isn't the place to get into that kind of one on one conversation.
