American Idol 6

VFTW started off with a bang during season 6 of American Idol when we selected Antonella Barba and Sundance Head as our first two picks. Almost immediately, racy pictures of Antonella surfaced, causing a public outcry and a flood of support. Eventually, pictures appeared with an Antonella lookalike performing oral sex, and VFTW was the first website to prove that these pictures were without a doubt fake. After lasting 3 weeks longer than anyone expected, our porcelain princess and the big guy were voted out. We then selected Sanjaya Malakar as our pick, and what a whirlwind that caused! First, we saved him in the top 12 where he barely survived the bottom 2. Then, Howard Stern jumped aboard and helped us rally the troops to save Sanjaya through his awesome performances that included a crying girl and a ponyhawk. Sanjaya fever swept the country, thanks mostly to VFTW, with celebrities like Zach Braff, Will Ferrell, and Rose McGowan jumping aboard to help. Sanjaya easily survived 6 weeks into the top 10, going home in 7th place (WAY further than anyone ever expected). VFTW then supported Phil Stacey and LaKisha Jones with little luck, but succeeded in helping Blake Lewis edge out front-runner Melinda Doolittle for a spot in the finals. Jordin Sparks may have won the title, but the true winner was obviously Sanjaya, thanks to unparalleled support from Worsters around the country. Everyone wanted to talk solely about Sanjaya in the media, which proved VFTW's gigantic impact. Chris Sligh even gave VFTW founder Dave a shoutout during the top 11 show, making it the greatest VFTW season ever... until season 7 that is!

I wanna learn how to play "You Really Got Me" on electric guitar after seeing Sanjaya perform with Joe Perry during the finale. Truly the only highlight of the season and nothing else could top that!!!

Thanks Dave for making season six bearable for all of us!

I was a lurker throughout AI6, getting daily recaps and laughing at the hilarious mailbags. This site always put a smile on my face... Shame that we'll have to wait till next year to get the same sort of response from the public (Unless, by some cruel act of Satan, ON THE LOT becomes really, really big.)

Thanks for the great memories guys! Till next year!

What an amazing year! And there was a period that was especially amazing. I call it "SanjayaMania", when VFTW exploded, Dave went on Stern and Letterman, we had massive press, You Really Got Me and Bathwater, and we get the shout out! It was really a phenonema, no joking. There will be things next year-something always pops up!-and people will know where to come!

Congrats VFTW!

Through AI 5, my enjoyment was watching the bad singers in the audtions and listening to Paula's confucian wisdom.
Then came AI 6 with William Hung Fever and an overdose of the bad. The producers seemed to have Paula strung out on Thorazine or Prozac to keep her quiet.
AI was losing it for me. Then I stumbled into VFTW and all was well.

Thanks to Dave, Professor Chan, Smartie, Nightwing69 and all the worsters for giving me faith and hope again (no, not that stupid Kelly Ripa sitcom). A special shout out to all the grammar-impaired AI fans who regaled us with their inellektial takes on VFTW.
Biggest thanks to our beloved Papaya. You are a true star, the only one AI will ever see.

In the meantime, if Canadian Idol is not entertaining enough, we have the lover's spat brewing between Ryan & Simon. Just read that Semencrust is blaming Bowell for the ratings drop; too much of him and his acerbic comments. Nothing to do with no-neck wookie constestants.

P.S. If the producers really want to keep Paula quiet next year, try binding & gagging her on air. That may help with the ratings, too.

This was such a weird season. I hated it so much but loved it at the same time. Almost all these contestants were boring as hell. Thank God for Sanjaya he made up for it all. Sadly when he was robbed he took all the fun with him.

Thanks VFTW and Sanjaya you made the season.

I think VFTW had the best VFTW victory this season. No we only got Sanjaya to top 7 but he will be the only one remembered this season and will have better success then everyone else.

Oh, don't worry. As a Canadian myself, it's my duty to make fun of Canadian Idol. It's like a rite of passage to calling yourself a Canuck. That and the copious amounts of beer you have to inhale.

While AI6 Sucked like a vacuum hose attached to a chipmunk, VFTW made it all worthwhile.

A special thank you to Nightwing, Smartie, Elvenjewel,
M-dog and the endless others who helped to ease the pain of the suckage this show represented each week. I have a few brain cells left thanks to all of you who kept those poor little buggers alive in my head. Hopefully they can regenerate before AI7. I'll be extra careful with the drugs and booze to make sure they have a fighting chance at a comeback.

All Hail Sanjaya, the only saving grace for this season of hot crap on a paper plate.

I can't say enough about how VFTW has kept me interested in AI this past season!!! It was a boring crapfest brought alive by all of you here, including all the tards that missed their bus and stayed home to post nasty messages!

If I told you how many office fights I got into defending the goal of VFTW and trying to inform people of how fixed the whole AI thing is you would laugh!

Looking forward to AI7 and all of your brilliance again!!!

Papaya Rocks!!!!
