Happy Holidays, Worsters! We have a small present for you... the name of that overpimped Irish girl who will be on this season's American Idol. You may remember her as the plant from season 5 who was suddenly dropped for not having a visa. Simon called her, "The only person I can genuinely remember from the auditions." Nigel Lythgoe, everyone's least favorite American Idol producer, is back to pimping the Irish girl this season, saying "there are three girls who are superb, including one girl we saw three years ago who wasn't an American citizen." Well, Vote for the Worst found out this mystery girl's name. She is none other than failed singer Carly Hennessy (pictured, left, with oddly tattooed husband). Literally, minutes after we outed Carly on our message board, she set her MySpace to private. Don't be scared, Carly. We love producer plants here at Vote for the Worst... seriously... OK, who are we trying to kid? If you want to see this enigma in motion, here's a crappy music video she did about blowing some guy (and his mind). We'll literally have to spend months with her, so we might as well get used to her.

Well, I thought I knew sarcasm. I thought the CS for the AI Soul thing was really clever. Then I Googled it.

Holy crap. It's for real.

It really is getting too difficult to tell the difference between cleverly absurd satire and freakish fantard reality. How are we supposed to know any more?

WAZZUP, BUNKY!!!

Thanks for the detective work...

The jury's still out about this individual, but it's definitely leaning towards freakish fantard...

I don't now much about this site...but the one thing I can say is that 1. none of you have any clue about the real deal that happened with her record deal! 2. her video does her no justice vocally what so ever. I personally sat next to this girl during hollywood week, and trust me. She is going to be a tough contender in this competition, cause this girl has such a strong and beautiful voice. By the way people, she recorded this song when she was a teenager. She is a grown woman now, and has the right to change her image. We all change as we grow! And why do you guy's all give a crap about what her husband looks like? You guy's don't have to go to bed with him every night! If that's who she chose to spend her life with, then that's her decision. I have never seen a sight filled with so many haters! I agree, american idol is a messed up show, and certain people that deserve to be on the show didn't make it. I personally quit the show because of this, but Carly defintily deserves to be on the show and her vocals will prove you all wrong in the end!
LOVE YA CARLY!!!

For some reason, most likely my poorly repressed desire for self-punishment, I checked out this woman's music video. In a a word: Wow.
No, not the good "wow", the other one.
Who wrote this song? Were they unable to decide whether it was a rock-pop, pop-country, adult alternative or bubblegum pop song or was the awkward mish-mash of styles intentional? Not that American Idol and fresh, creative, original songwriting exist in the same musical universe but this is her attempt at a real solo career, such as it is. You'd think she'd be more selective about her choice of songs but then again, she's more than willing to go on AI so I guess that explains things.
I just loved the constant intense fan effect on her hair. Nothing says sexy like a young female singer belting out a tune in the middle of a Category 3 hurricane. I appreciate the fact that she's repping the brunettes (fight the bottle blondes!) but damn, I was worried that her fairly attractive face might suffer wind damage. However, after seeing her husband (assuming that's really him in the pic) I can see that attractive and sane facial appearances are not this couple's strong point.
Yeah, about the face and head tattoos: I'm all for tats. I have some with more to follow but you're making a pretty deep commitment with the facial ink. Let's face it, your career choices are pretty limited when you tat the mug. If you're not a tattoo artist yourself, your choices are limited to freak show act, convict or being Mike Tyson (who is a combination of both of the previous). However, we can now add "be married to an American Idol contestant" to that list, although the merits and compensation of that career are dubious, at best. Most American Idol contestant spouse positions are filled by temps now, anyway.

That video of Carly as a teenager doesn't represent the exceptional talent that she displays now. I've been able to watch her perform live in San Diego. After each song, you really start to wonder how the music industry screwed this one up. I'm glad she's getting her chance again to get what she truly deserves and worked hard for.

So the non-American singer deserves and has worked hard for a spot on AMERICAN IDOL???

Fuckin' moron...
