Actually he never showed up to that committee's meetings after the first one; he didn't even bother to phone in.
The Claytards that were touting his appointment before now defend him by saying it was too bureaucratic and ineffective and thus beneath Clay to attend.

i think i'm kinda slow right now, but it seems like there are people who like clay (even here)!
when i go beyond his *looks* (or lack thereof), my senses tell me that i could not find bashing him since his track record shows that he is a good person :(

I think this new "is he a she" look is great. I for one am happy that Clay has the vagina to come out and not care what other people think, he-she is confident and the music will be outstanding. Do not tease, Clay is his own woman now.

Clay is and always has been the new Barry Manilow clone. Hausfraus love him, he's coy about his sexuality, and he sings melodic pablum for the masses. They should watch the over decoration of him thought, it makes him look like something from Madam Toussad's Wax museum.
I'm not sure if this was the career Clay had in mind, but it beats the hell out of Rueben's non-start of a velvet Teddy Bear rehash of Luther Vandross.
Apparently Barry can be re-created, Luther was one of a kind.

Wow, Clay is actually...pretty. From that angle at least. The pink shirt doesn't help his cause much, but in the scope of album covers, this one isn't really all that bad.
I actually like Clay, I think he was robbed on his season. And though I wouldn't go so far as to say I am a Claymate, I do hope his album does well, he is incredibly talented. They are doing season 2 on Idol rewind right now and they showed his audition, he has done a complete 180 from then to now. It's kind of amazing.
