American Idol Finally Doesn't Win a Night in Ratings

Looks like with no Sanjaya, the viewers are bored. American Idol lost the night on Thursday, with more people watching CSI than Idol. CSI scored 19.93 million viewers vs. Idol's 19.57 million. Carly and the gang must be boring the audience to death. Idol hasn't seen ratings that low since... well, we can't even remember. The only thing worse was Idol Gives Head, which only scored 17.5 million viewers. I guess even if people like helping charity, no one wants to see lame celebrity dance montages. How about focusing more on the charity and less on the "big name stars"?

So much for Ryan's "30 million people watching" line.

Or did he say 40? Only 10-20 million people off there, no biggy.

Ouch, that's huge. Perhaps to resurrect the ratings, American Idol and CSI could do a crossover show in which Grissom, Willows, and the gang try to solve the mystery of who slaughtered the entire remaining cast of AI Season 7.

Hint: It was me!

I don't mind the crossover concept, Scott, but nobody cares who whacked Seacrest for being such a sack of grunt to MJ. Even my 8 year old asked my why Ryan was so mean to Michael!

Plus, you leave the Castropants out of this. Farmbot tried to get him to join the group while MJ was singing his last hurrah--JC wisely slid away from the skank.

According to BuddyTV, Seacrest apologized to Michael afterwards with the very genuine. "C'mon it's TV. This is what happens on TV."

I guess this is why more and more people are going back to books.

Let's see:

Thrown under the bus by the producers just to produce a fake "shocker" in an attempt to boost ratings? Check!

Eliminated after two solid performances in a row in order to keep the anointed winner David Archuleta in the spotlight? Check!

Cruelly kept dangling on the line and then insulted at the last moment by an unfeeling douchebag (Seacrest) with no actual benefit to the show's ratings or any benefit at all for that matter? Check!

Yep, sounds like Hollywood to me!

Ooooh...I love the picture of the Top 8, the Plantiest Top Eight EVER! Just add a little Thousand Island Dressing, and you'll have some Salad! Chikezie, Danny, Ramiele and Amanda continue to grow artistically and generate more buzz about themselves outside of American Idol, though. I hope they pull-off a Jennifer Hudson and become really successful outside of the show!

Personally, I would rather see them promote a charity that helps unfortunate people in our own country.

Also, I think it's time Carly talks to the wardrobe department about muu-muus.
