One problem is a lot of people were probably confused that idol was on 3 days this week. I think a lot of people weren't even expecting Thursday's show. They should have figured out by now that Idol shows that don't involve competion singing and voting and a boot off the next day usually tank in the ratings. They've tried Idol specials in the past and the ratings are always a fraction of what a regular show gets.
Now Ramiele can brag that the ratings really tanked after she left the show. ;)

Jason Castro? I haven't seen the cover, but look at Archuleta in the above pic. He doesn't look that different from Alfred E. Neuman, does he?

If the ratings continue to slip like this. Next year they should give rid of the results show and show the auditions for only a week. I never watch the results why do they need a hour for something that only takes a couple of minutes to do.

>>I would rather see them promote a charity that helps unfortunate people in our own country.
By my count, four of the six charities supported by the Idol Gives Back Foundation actually DO help Americans. But whatever.

Wait, what did Ryan say? (To Michael)
I kind of skipped over the results (who can blame me?)

what I can't figure out is how this can be a contest at all? I mean I just found out...I guess everyone knew but me, but Brooke White and Kristy Lee Cook both have cds out too on Amazon.com. I really am turned off by this fraud of a show. I vow from here out to never watch it again!!!!!! I just don't care anymore. I will come to this site though because it is awesome, but if David Enchilada wins....I know his dad paid the show!!!!!!!

Emily: They could have the contestants eliminated at the begining of the following weeks show. I've seen some competition shows do that. That way It would only have to be on once a week, and it would only take a few minutes to do.

In the picture Carly looks more than a little like Amanda Foreman (the actress, probably best known as Meghan on the TV show Felicity).
I LOVE Amanda F! She's so damn cool.
Carly, on the other hand, isn't.

Yes but then AI couldn't sap the life out of us with another whoring attempt to make money by destroying an hour of our life - and kill other shows with a "plot".

I had the TV on but I couldn't really watch Idol Gives Back. Who was that chick that promised to scream until we gave money? I wanted to physically assault her. I stopped watching at that point but the computer game I was playing was much too interesting to find the remote and turn the TV off. I did catch the last Miley Cyrus performance. I've never been crazy about her voice but if she wasn't lip syncing I am impressed with her fitness level. If she was doing all that and singing all I can say is "WOW!"
Oh, I'm new by the way. I've been lurking for years but this is my first comment. :D

Looks like with no Sanjaya, the viewers are bored. American Idol lost the night on Thursday, with more people watching CSI than Idol. CSI scored 19.93 million viewers vs. Idol's 19.57 million. Carly and the gang must be boring the audience to death. Idol hasn't seen ratings that low since... well, we can't even remember. The only thing worse was Idol Gives Head, which only scored 17.5 million viewers. I guess even if people like helping charity, no one wants to see lame celebrity dance montages. How about focusing more on the charity and less on the "big name stars"?
