Brian Dunkleman Alleges that American Idol is Rigged, Fake

If an American Idol host was ever a Worster, it would be Brian Dunkleman, the man who hosted with Seacrest during season 1 before vanishing. In his recent radio interview with Adam Carolla, Dunkleman let out a few interesting tidbits. Who knows what he actually knows, but it would be interesting if what he says is true:

-Dunkleman says the show is fake, that there are re shoots for dramatic effect, with lots of fake tears.

-On his first show, one of AI's producers poked him in the chest and cussed him out because he was comforting to a contestant, and didn't torment them further.

-Dunkleman believes the show is rigged and to decide who's going home, the producers "write a name on a piece of paper and hand it to the host, and say read this."

-Clay Aiken received more votes than Ruben in season 2 but Ruben was given the title anyway.

-Seacrest was scheming to get Dunkelman off the show from the start, and sabotaged him by going off script, leaving Dunkelman with no set up for his punchlines.

Yeah, I agree that Dunkleman is just trying to put himself back in the spotlight for a little while, Mysterioso. Your point that he's never gotten over being thrown off of Idol is right on the mark.

I don't know if I can get behind your statement that Dunkleman is a "butt dumpling" though. I'm not even sure what that means.

Anyway, thanks for your insight!

I think the reason why the Dunkmiser waited this long to say anything is due to that lovely little 5 year gag order they had to sign.

Yeah he got effed over, but he was a terd.

Before writing a whole lecture-response, it would be wise to, you know, actually listen to the interview.

I didn't lecture anyone, I asked questions. Questions that were raised because, as I said, I am too lazy to listen to the interview.

Reading comprehension. Learn it, live it, love it.

I listened to both parts of the interviews and he didn't talk about the votes being rigged. Where is that?

Yeah - he mentioned he couldn't talk because of a gag order and because he was a host on rewind.

Here are a few interesting tidbits:

He said he and Ryan hated each other from close to day one. One day he said "Ryan!" and Ryan yelled "WHAT" and as was mean to him. Brian was like "Dude, what's your problem?"

Another thing is that he heard the producers/judges say that they were going to "get" Jim Verraros. One time, a contestant got ripped apart by the judges and when they came back to the hosts, Brian said something like "at least Paula liked you, what more could you want?" and Nigel came and ripped him to shreds and said "you didn't mention what Simon said" and Brian replied "so, they are already feeling like crap when they come up here, you want me to CONTINUE to make them feel like crap?" Nigel said "that's (expletive ,expelitve, expelitive) right!"

You know the famous fight that Simon and Randy had over RJ Helton? It was real, but they shot it again to censor it a bit. Simon was mad that a few "monkeys" that made it to the top 10 and shouldn't have. Randy thought that he was talking about African American contestants and that he comments were racist, so got in his face and they had a big fight. (Simon wasn't talking about any black contestant, though.) The contestant were crying. They took an hour to cool off after the fight, and they shot the fight scene again only the told Simon to call the contestants "losers"

This all happened in two days. No wonder he wanted off.

Hey, I relied on the bullet points, too. They're like bloggy Cliff's notes. I figured that the original poster listened to that stupid interview so that everyone else didn't have to. It's a wonderful public service.

I watched back the first season on AI Rewind (yeah, I know, shut up) and that last one is definitely true. To which I say, good going, Seacrest.
