Buy Chris Sligh's Debut Album, Out Today

Chris Sligh's debut album, Running Back To You, is in stores today, so pick up a copy and support him. From what we've heard, the album is really good, and features Chris's signature vocals and songwriting abilities. Sadly, there is no track called, "Hi, Dave." Maybe it's on his next album ;-) You can find the album at a local store near you or online here (Best Prices we've found: $9.99 at iTunes for the download and $10 at his official site for the physical CD):

I'm at work, so I can't listen, but out of curiosity, is this a Christian album? Not making any underhanded comments, just curious.

Also, couldn't somebody have sprung a little cash for some art direction on the album cover? I would have preferred to see something more like this, with Chris Sligh's head superimposed on the Viking, of course:

I see he wore his good zippered sweatshirt and best gray t-shirt for his album cover.

Yeah, they could have done a better album cover than this.

Works for me. Any objections?

Okay, somebody get Bob from marketing on the horn, we need a stop ship on the Sligh album for a major repackaging effort. We will probably have to tie off with Logistics on a recall of product already shipped and still boxed in the warehouses. Let's get this done, people.

It looks like a photo one might see at the Smoking Gun.

Post the image on the photochop thread on the forum and someone will do that for you.

I think the album cover helps those potential buyers (like my relatives) who will not remember his *name* from AI, but when they see the picture will go, "OH, THAT GUY. I LIKED HIM. HE SAID THAT FUNNY THING THAT ONE TIME."

Sligh's record label is indie rather than Christian, but his single has hit the Christian charts hard so far:

Billboard Hot Christian Songs, #17
Billboard Hot Christian Adult Contemporary, #18
Radio & Records Christian Pop, #23
Radio & Records Christian Adult Contemporary, #18

It may be on the Billboard Hot 100 or 200 but they only show the top half online. : (

You make a good point about the face recognition.

Congrats Chris!

Good for Chris. Best of luck to ya, buddy!

No offense, but they could've done something a little more special to the cover, though. Not that Chris isn't special, cuz he really is, but usually special effects and bright text catch people's attention more when they decide to buy a random CD.
