I always did like Taylor and I hope the "Grease" thing works out for him and that his next album does well.
Also I was thinking about what a Fantasia/Taylor performance would be like. Frightening, huh? They would probably collide into one another.
I did like the "Gin and Juice" performance with Snoop Dogg (which is probably sill on YouTube if you don't know what I'm talking about.) He never has been a bore. Go Taylor! Soul Patrol!

FunnyStone, you are such a DICK!! Get over the fan hate. We are not all "Menopausal Fat Chicks". Not all of us want to freck Hicks, not all of us follow Hicks from state to state, not all of us are crazy, etc.
Thanks for the news on TH, I do wonder how many Nutz will attend every show this summer for one song. If I were going to NY I would see the show, but I have zero desire to fly cross country for one song.
Grrr, dude you can be such an ASS!!
Thanks again for the news.

I think they say frack on Battlestar Gallactica. No, I'm sure they do because I HATE it and won't watch the show because it really bothers me.

I kind of like the idea that Taylor is involved with Grease. I can totally see him doing that and his out-of-this-world stage performances. :)
He is a showman after all. ;)
Good for you Taylor and good luck!
By the way FunnyStone,
I am a fan of Taylor Hicks, (although not at all a rabid fan, I still respect the guy for his own way of thinking and for not falling into the "Idol" cookie-cutter image.) so I'm anything BUT fat and Menopausal. Although you were trying to make a "funny" on your part, I found it rather annoying. I'm sure, these fans buying 100 albums each? Please! Try 150! ;)

Well good for him. Not the coolest of gigs I must say, but I hope he has fun doing it.
Yeah so maybe you could have been a little nicer regarding his more hardcore fans.
NOT!
(The truth hurts sometimes, people.)
Regarding his "second" album, I'm looking forward to it. He's got one hell of a voice, man, but that stinking turd of an album he put out with 19 did not do him justice. I'm glad they parted ways. Whether it was a mutual parting or a dismissal has been argued, but it seems like a blessing to me. Now he'll be free to go back to his roots. His liberal politics are gonna piss off much of his fan base. There's still a few uber-religious hangers-on that freak out every time he takes a shot on stage or swears -- you'd think they would have given up after the 100th drunken F-bomb. I hope this album repels the last of those churchies. Seriously. I think Taylor said it best himself at this club in GA "all the fuckin' squares go home!" Hahahahahaha!!!
Well look at that. If you combined all of my posts together into one it wouldn't be this much. It appears I'm a fan. (contemplating)

This is a win-win scenario for Taylor. In the past 24 hours, there's been more positive press on Taylor than I've seen since the day after he won Idol. ALL positive stuff. This gets his name out there in prep for this new all-self-written CD he's recording. He also has a DVD on the way Whomp at the Warfield and a 2-CD set of his older stuff dropping in August. This show will put some serious $$$ in his pocket - he might need it to do music the way he wants to - touring and recording wise. He was born for the stage - he loves it - and will it expose himself up to a brand new audience. And the song he's doing? You know he'll grab that motha by the balls and lay it down. Good for him.
