Jason Yeager's Vlog for Group 2

You probably don't remember Jason, but he was in the top 24 last year. He was cast as fodder, but he had a decent voice, though of course the judges didn't ever compliment it because he wasn't ever given screen time. Either way, his weekly vlogs are kind of notable because you can see the show from the perspective of someone put on the show who knew that had no chance to win due to having no screentime. Around 8:31 he talks about how the contestants pick a list of songs and then the producers pick which song they get to sing. Not that we didn't know this, but it's good to hear it from more sources. Either way, Jason's vlog is smei-interesting, so keep up with it if you want to.

Dang...is Jason sleeping on a friend's sofa? Hard times.

His take on the "cool" group number was surprising; he has zero credibility in my book after that.

Some interesting insight near the end, as to the "bad song choice". Also, the judges frequently cite "bad song arrangement", as though the contestants had written and orchestrated their own.. I'd love it if one of the contestants had the stones to throw that back in the judges' face: "I agree...why don't you hire better talent?"

In summary, Jason is not bitter and sarcastic enough to warrant this site's endorsement. Can we find a former contestant with a real axe to grind?

I'm actually impressed. This is a good vlog, with some inside perspective that's actually useful.

It's interesting to me to hear a former contestant revealing so much dirt about this whole scripted show. This should be spread all over Youtube so all the tards will be converted to Worsters.

Very interesting... guess that answers the question why the song choices have seemed so incredibly horrible this year.

It is understandable, though, considering the fact Idol has to get permission and pay to use any song that is performed on the show - but they need to fire whoever IS picking the music selections for Season 8!

Upbeat pop music does NOT showcase the singer's vocal talents in a live setting. Look at how many artists lip synch their own music during live performances - you can't sing well and dance at the same time.

whats the deal with his Flock of Seagulls haircut?

Other than that, I always find it interesting to hear what former contestants have to say. But definitely disagree on the group number. That thing was lip-synced to death, and not even lip-synced (lip-sunk?) well.

Makes total sense about the song choice thing. Did you guys hear last week that Adam had originally wanted to do a different songs but the producers told him the weekend before the show that he couldn't sing it (not sure if it was clearance rights or the producers just didn't want him to sing it). Anways, the story was that Adam still didn't have a song he wanted to sing on monday night. Maybe the producers forced him to pick "Satisfaction" in the end? Who knows. He still camped it up amazingly for us.

Yea, I'm not shocked to hear that the song choices are limited. Wasn't Yager the one that sang Moon River last season? LOL

Hopefully he'll keep dishing the dirt.

I think most of us have known about this song choice thing. Honestly, this vlog is quite interesting, I just hope more former contestants tear up AI credibility and make those fantards cry.

Oh and because of this song-choice thing, we gotta hear the same horrible songs over and over and over again. I've had enough with songs like "I Don't Wanna Be" and "Dance With Somebody".

Well. finally someone has the same opinion that I did regarding Kris Allen-he can't sing. Also, I wanted to mention that the initial seasons of AI all had the Wild Card show and they brought back some people for the Wild Card Show that were eliminated in Hollywood. In Season 2 they did it that way, I'm not sure about season one or three. But 9 people returned for Wild Card some that never even made it into the four groups. After they sang, each judge picked one person and America had voted and the person with the highest number of votes became the fourth person which rounded out the group to 12. Those twelve then sang in front of an audience with recorded music. And that was the first time they were exposed to an audience. Very interesting, and much different than the way the show is handled today.

Jason is quite the moron. He's pissed about Normund being in the finals and questions why the show would put His Gentleness on. Then Jason the dipshit answers his own question when he talks about the superficiality of it all, and how the show is manipulative and all about entertainment/ratings. Hey, MORON, that's precisely why Normund SHOULD be on the show!

p.s. Jason's own "singing" in this video sounded maximally gay. He should vblog with a shiny shirt on.
