And I imagine that the male contestants will be keeping their distance from now on, lol!

Sorry for bringing politics into the discussion, but do you remember how during the Presidential Primaries a whole bunch of videos came out of Barack Obama's preacher and it was like omg does this mean people are going to shrink back into their comfort zone and it's going to be another 4 years of more of the same or will people embrace the message of hope and change?

AI's obviously not significant to the direction of the world, but in terms of the analogous situation of there being people vying for the top honor of a competition in which the winner is determined by voters across the country, I kind of feel like Adam as the most talented person in the race is now faced with a somewhat similar challenge. Something's come up from his past that might make some people think differently of him than they did two days ago, and yet he's SO talented and just so right for the moment you wonder whether people might be persuaded to take a leap of faith and embrace something new . . .

How's that "hope and change" working out for you? The thing about Jeremiah Wright is, that should have mattered to the majority of the electorate, and the fact that nobody cared speaks very, very badly about the future of America.

Not to bring politics into this otherwise enlightened discussion, or anything.

For me, this isn't about Adam's sexual preference. And it's not a generational thing, either. Back in my day, we all knew Elton John was gay even before he did, and nobody cared, because "crocodile rockin' was so ou-ou-out of sight". But as far as I know, Elton never acted out his sexual appetite in front of a cameraman with stage lighting.

And yeah, two guys tongue-kissing is different than "kiddie porn". My point is, the morals charge is similar enough that this should draw the attention of A.I.'s producers. Is this the image they want to present under the brand label of "American Idol"? I think not.

I'm torn on this one between whether the AI producers will orchestrate his leaving or whether the American public will turn on him. Either one is possible. Then again, there are still silver haired old ladies who think Liberace was straight and was singing just for them....so there's no telling how bankable AI will think Adam is despite the photos, and there's no telling how many music buying, Coca-Cola buying females in America that will think they know differently than these pictures tell them.

I don't think AI will do anything about the pictures. They do have that new producer, and Paula has said she would like to see equal opportunity for gay contestants, not than anyone listens to her. My kids say their tweenie friends have been in denial about Adam's sexuality. I'm not sure how many of them will find these pictures, but the public turning on him seems more likely to me. These pictures seem less questionable than Saint Antonella's pictures, they aren't humping a war memorial, and I'm not sure if AI did anything to Antonella. They may hve given her the boot before the votes justified it, but it is hard to tell, her singing wasn't all that and she may have put off the voters with the pictures.

Which suggests that if he fails to go all the way on Idol (calm down, Seacrest) he would be a natural to join the contestants in the next season of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Re-arrange the letters in the name Daniel Gokey and you'll find the phrase "keen gay idol"
