Clay Aiken is Not a Fan of Adam Lambert

Clay Aiken blogged about Adam Lambert's loss, saying that he was happy because Adam was the perfect example of a professional who didn't need Idol to help his career. Clay wishes the show would go back to trying to find undiscovered talent instead of pimping proven failures like Carly Smithson (the Carly comparison is ours, not his. We just like to use her as a punching bag.) Clay blogged:

"The show was different then, and folks made it in seasons 1-3 because they were "real" people who happened to sing/entertain well. But, somewhere along the way, AI stopped being about real people. In a battle between David and Goliath, my money is on David!

I think many voters got sick of being "told who to vote for". I think many were turned off by the blatant favoritism shown towards one contestant. Therefore, on that last night, they used their votes against a contestant that they were tired of hearing about and for the contestant who had been written off. And, at the same time, I think they voted AGAINST an American Idol that has, for four years now, been more about the slick productions and polished contestants than it has been about finding the raw talent that it did in its first three seasons."

Preach it! Though Clay does leave out that he was pimped beyond belief at the expense of other contestants, just like Adam was. But does this make Clay Aiken a sort-of Worster?

I think Clay is jealous cause he is looking more like a dumpy frau since he came in second place. I would be shocked if Adam was looking like a dumpy frau in 5 years.

I have to disagree slightly with this one. Simon did take a few shots at Clay, if I remember correctly. Ruben was the prized pet who could do no wrong that season. I agree with a lot of the things he says here.

I agree with Clay that Idol voters decided to support the contestant that they were told not to support. It was like Heisman voter rebelling against ESPN hype and east coast sports bias and voting Oklahoma's Sam Bradford over Florida's Tim Tebow

Clay was before I started watching, so I can't comment on the accuracy of his suggestion that I-Dull was EVER "really" about finding undiscovered talent - maybe it was.

But his comments about the show these days are dead-on. I'll give the producers a little credit here - at least this year few of the contestants were outright "Plants" Like last year - when at least 4-5 of the top-12 had prior record deals &/or TV experience - in other words, were already established "in the business" to some degree or another.

Madame's had a LOT of past stage experience, and someone claimed he did a record with Randy a couple years ago???? But other than that, the cast this year at least "seemed" to be bona-fide "amateurs"??? As for Clay - don't cry too many tears for his career! According to Forbes magazine he still ranks #6 among all former I-Dull contestants in money earned. $2.2 million:   Link

BTW, for an interesting read on what its like to work for the slave-masters at 19E, check this out -   Link

I'm not surprised so many former winners got out from under 19E as soon as they could, but I DIDN'T know Kelly Clarkson does not allow I-Dull to even use her songs!!!! WOW!!!

LambertFTW, you need to change your username to LambertFail.

Testify Claylene! I gotta wonder if he's relieved that the fat old bags have a new object of misguided lust or he's jealous that Adam is prettier than he is.

Glamturds...uh I mean Glamtards are now complaining and bellyaching that Clay is JELLIUS.

Clay is telling the truth.

The reason Glambert lost was because he was a fuckin' professional and the show knew it and everyone figured it out. Which caused a big backlash. Simon and TPTB where force feeding us Glambert, who tried to hold back on his Divaness to be 'acceptable' to the Joe and Martha Six-pack.

The fools who became Glamturds are so hypnotized what the show is force feeding them they can't see that Clay is right and play right into the bullshit that Idol is feeding them.

Then they are crying that some guy off the street beat their prized pony in the final race and these idiots hate it and so does Simon Cowell and TPTB.

That is why I am glad we VFTW worsters defeated TPTB season 8.
