Scott MacIntyre Blogs that His Finale Performance Was Cut

Scott MacIntyre wrote a blog that he was set to do a dueling piano performance with Matt Giraud at the finale, but it was cut out of the show. Seriously? That might have actually been interesting. Scott has a fun sense of humor, and even though Matt Giraud never showed it during the show, the other contestants said he was pretty funny too. It probably would have actually been something worth watching. Scott blogged:

"We got to the Nokia Theatre on Wednesday morning (show day) and out of the blue about 9:30am found out the duet had been cut and the decision was final. Needless to say, I was shocked. American Idol had originally invited Billy Joel himself to perform with us, but he was unable to make it in the end; and because our duet was the only duet not involving another celebrity, it was the first thing to be cut when the show was condensed. Over the last few days I have tried to reason this out every way possible, and it makes no sense to me why one of the most compelling and unique performances of the show would be cut simply because the original artist wasn’t present. (Perhaps Tatiana and Bikini Girl were more important after all… :P) There will most likely not be another set of competent pianists on the show anytime soon, and this would have been an opportunity to make American Idol history."

Well wait a minute, Scott. Tatiana is much more important than 99% of the contestants. This is a fact. But I don't think anyone would have cared if Gokey didn't get to sing. No one likes him. Ken Warwick also promised Scott that he will get to come back and perform on a results show next year to make up for it. Ken will likely break this promise because he is a soulless fuckboob.

Nobody but NOBODY cuts my Tatiana out of anything!!!!!!

Actually, this would have made a great moment. I could have happily done without the Black Eyed Peas and Fergie...I mean, this is the AI finale show, not 'let's watch undertalented losers sing their song' night.

Actually, next year maybe Idol should do without the B-list celebs and just have duets, trios etc. Of course, that means they can keep the A-listers they invited, like Steve Martin. Who is god.

That's a pretty arrogant post on Scott's part. He makes it sound like he and Matt were the most talented of the bunch. And what's this about there not being another set of "competant pianists" on the show anytime soon? Dude! Come back to earth.

Plus, he should just be greatful to AI, and STFU. He NEVER deserved to be in the top. He was ONLY on there for the sympathy vote. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he's horrible. However, you can find a person with his level of talents at any bar on any street corner in any city USA. Nice enough guy, but nothing special.

Now he's throwing that one good thing about him out the window by being a douche about it.

Billy Joel on piano... ummm ya! Scott and Matt on piano for the finale show.. just them?! He's fucking delusional to think anyone would give a hearty shit! Sorry Scotty Boy.. you are a lounge singer with a goofy smile.

I would have preferred the dueling pianos to dueling bikini tramps. I still contend that the only reason Matt was put in the Top "13" was so they could have him and Scott play piano together. Wonder why AI lost their cajones on that one.

C'mon, arrogance on his part? Sure he wasn't the best singer this season, but it's gotta be a slap in the face to be cut at the last minute in favor of the crap they kept. Seriously, we get the "Idol Awards" - an excuse to mock pitiful, mentally challenged people who were told they were good just so they'd make fools of themselves and we could laugh at them, we get the slut-off/"sing"-off, we get the bizarre freakshow that is the Black-Eyed Peas, we get old washed-up 70's singers and freaking Jorge...

Scott is an incredibly smart young man and a very talented musician; his singing voice isn't the best, but I'd rather hear him any day than Sarver, Gokey, Jorge, Jasmine or any of the others whose names (shockingly) escape me at the moment. He didn't pimp his blindness (let's face it, you can't really hide that), the show did. His reaction to the snub was very understandable.

And yes, his "Myspace Breakup Song" is great :)

Sure thing Scott. Maybe if you had sung of medley of "I Can See Clearly Now," "Do You See What I See" and "Pinball Wizard" the producers would have let you play.

Yeah, the horrible Sarver getting all that face time was definitely not welcome. Neither were the f*ckin' Black Eyed Peas. I was wondering why they didn't have Scott do more. Billy Joel probably thought he was too good to do the show.
