There will be a repeat this week for VFTW Radio on 9/30, but join us on October 7th from 10-11 PM Eastern to chat with very talented American Idol 8 contestant Felicia Barton. You can give us a call at 201-793-8255 during the show to chat with Felicia and ask her about her time on Idol, being brought back after not making the cut, and how she's doing starting her music career.
On 10/7, there are 3 ways to listen live:
We hope to see you then!
Who's gonna spill first? (Besides Ju'Not of course, who has already spilled, and has been cracking us up with his tweets ever since).
AI Now is hosting a chat with some Idol contestants this Wednesday at 1 PM Eastern. We encourage you to show up for various reasons. First, the talented Felicia Barton will be there. Then, the guy with all the VFTW potential in the world, Nathaniel Marshall, will also chat. But the most intriguing will be Ju'Not Joyner's chat at 2 PM. We've been told that he wants to get the "truth about Idol" out there, says that "Idol isn't all it's cracked up to be" and wants to talk about how Ken Warwick is running American Idol into the ground. So let's get some Worsters in the chat to ask some good questions. If you can't make the chat, post your questions here and we'll pass them on to someone who can attend. Good times.
There's a new online Idol-like competition called... Online Idol (we're sure Idol will try to sue them soon and they'll be forced to change the name. Idol sucks like that). But it's judged by some cool people: season 8 contestants Alex Wagner-Trugman, Felicia Barton, and Brent Keith. Alex has an awesome sense of humor, Brent seems like he was a lot more fun than we gave him credit for, and Felicia is one of the people on Idol who actually could outsing the entire top 12 without even trying. So what we need for this competition is a VFTW ringer who goes into the competition, does poorly every week, and we vote for them anyway to stick around until they win. Does this sound like something you'd like to do? Sign up and let us know! Auditions are being accepted until the end of June.
Since the show has all but hidden new top 36 finalist Felicia Barton, here are a few clips of her singing. Above, she's singing Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. You can also check out No One and Big Girls Don't Cry. She's a pretty good singer without a sob story or dead relative, so there's about 0% chance she makes the top 12.
It's a hard knock life for an annoying sequoia. Hot damn, Joanna Pacitti has been disqualified from American Idol! Our work has finally paid off!
It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition. AMERICAN IDOL contestant Felicia Barton has replaced Ms. Pacitti as part of the Top 36, L.A. Times reports.
A source close to the show now tells us that Pacitti was disqualified to "avoid the appearance of impropriety." (meaning they got caught planting her... the other plants haven't been caught yet and stay on the show)
In the past week, tabloids had been reporting on a private relationship between Pacitti and executives of 19 Management - one of the companies which oversees Idol.
How awesome is this? We finally helped get one of the plants kicked to the curb and someone like Felicia who actually deserves a shot is given one. Win win all around. VFTW Victory!
JoesPlace has updated her top 36 list to include Kendall Beard, Felicia Barton, and Adam Lambert, as well as the previously spoiled Lil Rounds. JP is more reliable than the list we got via e-mail of course, so we'll say she's probably right. Felicia Barton is on this list, while she's not on the other one.
Edit: And just after we post this, we're now sure Felicia is not on the list. She's not in the top 36. Probably so some plant like Joanna could be.
Tonight on VFTW Radio, Felicia Barton will be joining us as our special guest. Felicia was not in the original top 36 of AI8, but was then included when Joplanta was disqualified. It will be interesting to get her take on what happened and see what she's doing now. We'll also be playing some of her music for all of her fans. Join us at 10 PM Eastern time on 8/26 for the show, and you can call us at 201-793-8255 live during the show to ask any questions you might have and talk live with Felicia.
