You know VFTW knows everything before anyone else does. So listen up when we say some news is going to come out that affects Jordin Sparks' career. And it actually made us feel kind of bad for her. Keep your eyes peeled in the news for this one.
HINT: The news about Jordin needing to rest her vocal chords is just the tip of the iceberg. It's not all out yet.
Well, Jordin Sparks' self-titled album has finally been released after months of lackluster single Tattoo struggling at radio. After some well timed payola, the song has finally caught on a bit, just in time for the big album push. Not surprisingly, the album is on track to only sell between 100,000 and 200,000 copies in its first week. What is surprising is that the album actually isn't complete crap. Inconsistent? Yes. But that's what happens when you bring in a slew of big name producers and don't make any connection between any of the songs.
Jordin Sparks was finally signed to Jive recently after allegedly having a hard time finding a record label. AOL's PopEater music blog has her new song Tattoo available for streaming. With cliche lyrics like "Just like a tattoo, I'll always love you" we're betting it won't be getting a lot of radio play anytime soon... unless payola is alive is well. Which it is. So expect to hear this crap every hour for the next few months.
How ironic is it that Nigel Lythgoe called VFTW a "fly buzzing around a cow," leading us up to this week's Entertainment Weekly cover where ponyhawked fly Sanjaya is buzzing around Jordin Sparks in what looks like a suspiciously cow-like print dress. The latest issue is actually pretty good, letting us remember great moments like Kevin Covais's Part Time Lover, and it even offers up a VFTW question in the trivia section:
49. Who was the first American Idol contestant to be "championed" by the notorious website Votefortheworst.com?
A. Julia DeMato
B. Kevin Covais
C. Jennifer Hudson
D. John Stevens

American Idol 6 was the weirdest season yet, mostly because it was so boring. But some performances stood out as VFTW classics. Here is the list that was compiled by VFTW members that highlights our 10 favorite performances of the year. Some were great for their bad singing, some were great for their eccentricities, and some were great for one word only: Sanjaya.
10. Cheek to Cheek - Sanjaya Malakar
The favorite VFTW contestant of the year made a splash with his big band night performance when he came out dressed in an all white suit and slicked back hair. Afterwards, Simon mockingly called the performance "brilliant," to which Sanjaya shouted, "Welcome to the Universe of Sanjaya!" We loved it!
USA Today broke the song spoilers for the week. This week, our KiKi is singing Run to Me and Staying Alive. Seriously. We love it so much. So if we want LaKisha to stay alive in the competition, we're gonna have to vote overtime. This is hopegfully going to be a great week for our favorite baby mama.

Here's the story we were hinting at the other day. Jordin Sparks apparently has such bad vocal chord damage that it may permanently affect her voice. It's not just a few shows that have been cancelled... she may never sing the same way again. Looks like 19Entertainment needs to really think about what they're doing to push these singers so hard that they may have ruined a naive, hopeful singer's career at age 18.
