Josiah Leming's mother, Sharon Leming, passed away today after her long battle with cancer. Sharon was a wonderful woman and an inspiration to many with her blog Mylifewithcancer.com. Sharon was a regular poster on VFTW for a while (wanttolive) so it's sad to see someone who was a member of our community and an all around wonderful person leave us. You will be missed, Sharon. Condolences go out to the Leming family during this hard time.
Friend of VFTW Josiah Leming has 2 new songs up on his MySpace, "Over and Over" and "Punk Ass Rain." We're assuming these are from his upcoming album, and they sound really good. "Over and Over" could be a definite hit. So check 'em out and leave him a message with your opinions.
Josiah scored gig performing at the South by Southwest Music Festival. That's a pretty huge event, taking place from March 18-22 in Austin, TX. Looks like Josiah is still on a roll and doing fine for himself without Idol. Good news! Anyone in the area going?
You picked em. Here's the winners of the 2008 Whatevia Awards. (For the original nominees, click here).

VFTW's favorite little buddy Josiah Leming has released his first video and, as one would expect, it's an absolutely beautiful, touching and unique song called Angels Undercover. And just as great, his mother Sharon is now going to be a star on MTV as she appears in the video!
American Idol should be ashamed. Morons.
Looks like the people at Idol realized what heartless bastards they looked like. MTV asked the Idol machine about their threat to block Josiah's album, and they said that this was untrue. Oh come on. Liars! A 19 Entertainment spokesperson said thet Idol contestants have to sign a contract that gives Somy/BMG exclusive rights for three months, but "if the contestant is in danger of losing a recording contract because of that, [19] generally will allow them out of their contract." How nice of them... This story seems like backtracking to us because Idol can't possibly stop the poor homeless kid who has a mom with cancer (their story) from releasing his album. Now they're trying to discredit Josiah to make it look like his representatives lied. Their tactic is failing miserably, as they're trying to make Josiah look like a liar so no one buys him album. We see right through it. Josiah 1, Idol 0.
PageSix reports that the idiots at American Idol are threatening to sue Josiah Leming if he releases his debut album on Warner Brothers Records in January. Josiah is looking to put his album out soon, probably because he wants to retain some of the buzz from his appearance on the show, as well as the fact that he probably wants to get it out soon since his mother has terminal cancer. What the fuck is Idol thinking? Josiah's time on the show will have been a year ago by the time his album comes out. Are their contracts that restricting? We hope Josiah tells them to fuck off and release his album anyway. Warner Brothers needs to step up and tell Idol to fuck off as well.
Head on over to iTunes to purchase Josiah Leming's Angels Undercover EP. It's Josiah's major label debut and the songs sound great, so make sure to buy it and support someone who's making it without the Idol machine. The EP includes the songs:
1. Arctic Outcry Wind
2. Angels Undercover
3. Theysay
4. This Cigar
5. To Run
