Mark Day

Quebec Isn't Likin' Mark Day

Posted by thefunnystone on July 21st, 2008 at 12:08 PM

Smarterthanpickler found this article in a Quebec newspaper. Quebec, as a province, does not seem to care about Canadian Idol at all. But now that Mark is sticking around, they had to mention it. Don't let it get you down though, Mark. We love you! The article says:

It's getting more and more ridiculous...Last week, during show dedicated to the music of David Bowie, the young man originally from Newfoundland performed a song that wasn't even written by the legendary British rocker! Mark Day, 20, egosille (destroyed?) Dancing In The Streets, a song Bowie remade with Mick Jagger in the 80s. Extremely awkward, wrong notes...the poor guy, in only four minutes, undermined the credibility of the show. And what could be worse than all this? The public voted for him to remain on the show another week!

Mark Day has made the top 9. Great job, VFTW! Adam Castelli went home, no shock to anyone. But we're also happy to see more of CI's latest breakout star, co-host Jully Black (left). Jully is fabulous, and her interview with Mark the other day was classic. We need more of Jully. Hell, she should just replace Ben. No one likes him. More Mark and Jully please, as this dynamic duo make their way to the winner's circle. VFTW Victory! Canada gets more Mark Day and we love it!

Mark Day - Dancing in the Streets

We never post the performances on here, but this one deserves a link. Mark Day's "Dancing in the Streets" from the Canadian Idol top 10 tonight is a true VFTW classic where Mark breaks out of his shell and embraces what we love about him and realizes his true potential. It's campy, it's fun, it's a riot, and it's 100% Mark. Even the judges can't stop laughing as Sass cackles through the comments. Mark, you have arrived. We can never let this guy leave!

Mark Day DANCING IN THE STREETS 1-866-943-6503

Mark Day embraced his inner Worster fully FINALLY and did "Dancing in the Streets". He camped it up like we knew he could and was truly fabulous. So dial 1-866-943-6503 as much as you can to save one of the best Canadian Idols in a long time. Jake called it a mockery and the other judges were laughing so hard at the absurdity of the performance that it was like a Sanjaya "You Really Got Me" moment. Mark, we will reward you with a shower of votes. Keep it up, you are truly awesome and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

The Canadian Idol top 10 has been decided and our giant grape Mark Day has made it! Great job, Canada. This is a true VFTW victory as the judges are probably crying themselves to sleep. Although we lost Mareepyeer Bellroooose, we also said goodbye to Oliver Pugfucker. Next week is David Bowie week, what will Mark entertain us with? Yay! Your top 10 are:

1. VFTW Victory! Mark Day
2. VFTW Backup Earl Stevenson
3. Katerreh Saylarahn
4. Theo Tams
5. Adam "Douchy" Castelli
6. Drew "Hobbit" Wright
7. Tiffani Amberly Thiessen
8. Sebastian "Haha, He Beat His Brother" Pigott
9. Mookie "Inaccurate History Lesson" Morris
10. Mitch "Another East Coast Fuck" MacDonald

See You Next Week Week, Mark Day! 1-866-943-6507

He got us alone. He was in love with us. And this week he sang the VFTW THEME SONG... "Against All Odds". But the judges hated Mark Day big time this week, saying he was awful, should not make a CD, and they would only use his CD as a coaster. They basically insulted him more than everyone else and told him to go home. We cannot let this happen. Vote big, 1-866-943-6507, and vote all night. Marky said, "See you next week" at the end of his performance. Let's do it for the guy and get him to the top 10. If he survives after that performance, it's a true VFTW miracle that Saint Antonella deemed possible, because the judges basically asked Canada to get rid of him. The judges would literally shit themselves if he makes it. Vote until your fingers bleed like giant grapes! We can do this.

Mark Day survives to sing another week on Canadian Idol, and that's all we care about. Greasy Jesse Cottam and overmelismified Lisa Bell said goodbye along with Frogtard favorites Paul Clifford and Jessica Sheppard. This is what's great about Canadian Idol. They can megapimp someone like Jessica Sheppard and she can go home the second week anyway. Jessica and Lisa were pretty good singers, so they probably didn't belong with this circus of clowns anyway, and Paul and Jesse barely made listenable music, so they can go back to doing that. Mark... trust us and listen... next week... "I Believe in a Thing Called Love". Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend". Any Britney Spears song. Come on, let's see the comedian emerge and entertain us all!

Mark Day Did Not Sing Tonight

Mark Day did not sing tonight, so VFTW has no official pick. But Earl Stevenson was really gunning for our votes, so if you would like to vote for someone, we unofficially suggest him. 866-943-6509. You go, Earl! He was doing his best Mark Day impression and we loved it. Also, he was the only contestant not to whore out a sob story/dead relative.
