He didn't win American Idol, but he's up for a much better prize right now. Sanjaya Malakar is currently nominated as one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people of the year, and we can help him win! Head on over to the website here and give Sanjaya a 100 out of 100 as many times as you can to help him get to the #1 spot. If we keep voting for Sanjaya, we could help him become this year's most important person. Because seriously, who is more important than our robbed papaya? Not many people! Let's see how high we can get him. Well it couldn't last forever! Great work everyone on helping Sanjaya make the top 7, he's now the all time VFTW record holder. But as classic Worsters know, we always move on to someone new. Who will it be? Phil? Chris? Someone else? Sound off on the message board and let us know your opinion. We'll have an informal poll up soon to see what the general consensus is. It's so sad to lose our VFTW king, but we can't stop bugging the producers, they'd like that too much! So stay tuned and let's remember how much fun it was to help keep Sanjaya in the running for so long! Time to move on to Idol Gives Back, where the producers get corporations to donate money yet donate nothing out of their own ridiculously huge paychecks!
Just as we predicted, Sanjaya returned to form this week! He gave us something to talk about with his fun outfit and classic Sanjaya vocals. Simon was so angry and said, "It was funny for a while, but..." No buts about it, it's still fun and Sanjaya is still saving the show with his great personality. So dial 1-866-IDOLS-03 as much as you can or text VOTE to 5703. Make sure to also catch Dave on David Letterman tonight. VFTW Victory!
Sanjaya Malakar has won another award for being incredibly awesome! We're not sure if he's going to want this won, but he is Maxim's Girl of the Day. While some people may find this insulting, we think it's great because it keeps Sanjaya's name out there for voting tonight! Make sure to vote as many times as you can, because Sanjaya is going to rule Country night. Embrace your inner Fanjaya-ness if you haven't yet, tonight isn't too late to join the bandwagon and vote along with VFTW, Howard Stern, Rose McGowan, Carson Daly, and more.
As if having Kevin Covais guest star on her album wasn't proof enough, TMZ.com reports that Paris Bennett is indeed a Worster who is voting for Sanjaya. Paris said on the Tone E Fly Morning Show in Minneapolis that Idol is a "joke" and that she and a few other contestants are helping VFTW screw with the show. "We want to see him [Sanjaya] win because it'll kind of prove that 'American Idol' is kind of losing its taste," says Bennett. Fans of VFTW may remember that we weren't fans of Paris last year at all, but if she's supporting us, we'll support her. It's always nice to see past contestants agreeing that the show is a joke. What say you now, die hard Idol fans? Go VFTW!
Blake Lewis gets one in his hometown. Gina Glocksen gets one in her hometown. But Federal Way, Washington has decided to be lame and not give Sanjaya Malakar his very own day, issuing the statement, "Federal Way has more important things to deal with and unless a council member tried to push through a proclamation, then that Idol wannabe should not expect a similar honor." What a terrible idea! So we here at VFTW want you to write to Mayor Mike Park and Deputy Mayor Jim Ferrell to let them know that Sanjaya deserves his very own day! Click "Read More" to read, copy, and paste the letter written by Gregoire from Survivor Sucks, it's really good, funny, and true.
(Below is the letter. Feel free to copy this one or write your own!)
