The Grand Palace in Branson, Missouri premiered a show on June 20th called America's Favorite Finalists with some American Idol also rans taking the stage. As a shock to no one, the show has already been canceled. We feel bad for Scott Savol because he's awesome, but seriously, who would actually pay to see Haley Scarnato and Vonzell Solomon. Oh that's right... no one. Better luck next time, guys. But you should all at least feel good that you still aren't as low on the food chain as Constantine Maroulis, who still has to play for free and sell his clothes on eBay to pay the rent.
Have you been wasting money on the iTunes downloads of American Idol season 7 performances? Don't you know the singers are making nothing off of this? Instead, put your money to good use and help support an up and coming artist, former VFTW superstar Scott Savol. His new song, "Don't Rush" is now available on iTunes here. So make sure to go download the song, featuring Scott's signature smooth R&B vocals. It's always nice to see someone make it on their own without the Idol machine. Plus, this money actually supports his career. So go download the song. It was great to see him outlast Constantine on the show... now let's help him sell more records than that dirty poser who likes to ruin soap operas as well.

As American Idol 4 started up, VFTW realized we were in for some big fun. In the semi-final rounds, we picked Constantine Maroulis and Janay Castine as our VFTW candidates. Constantine was the worst kind of faux rocker, he was less convincing as a rocker than even Ryan Seacrest would be. Janay was nicknamed Janaybot by VFTW for her robotic arm movements. They both offered up some truly awful moments, especially when Janay decided to tackle "Hit Em Up Style". Janay advanced for 3 weeks before being sent packing, all the while Idol fans wondered how the hell she stayed in so long. Constantine sucked his way into the finals.
To celebrate the fact that Nigel Lythgoe has quit his job on American Idol, we put together a tribute video that features many awesome moments in the first four years of Vote for the Worst. See if you recognize everyone in the video, and if not, read up on some VFTW history. It's good stuff. Enjoy, and here's to many more years of VFTW victories (that just happen to now be Nigel-free)!
