Salt Lake City Spoilers and Other Fun Info

We received a pretty fun tip yesterday and we wanted to share it today before the Salt Lake City auditions. Some fun info for you:

  • David Osmond actually wasn't a plant. He went to try out on his own, but clearly he was an idiot if he thought he wouldn't be recognized with that last name. His wife Valerie wasn't so lucky- she was cut immediately.
  • Another "plant" tried out but had no luck either. Natalia Wolfgramm, a younger sister of one of the members of the 80's group The Jets, didn't make it past the first round either. Plant Taylor Vaifanua (who we outed as a contestant) is friends with Natalia's family.
  • David Osmond is probably going to go on tour with David Archuleta soon. Gaspy has auditions for his band this past week and we hear that apparently Jeff Archuleta only wanted Mormon band members because he feels that the others are a "bad influence" on David. Jeff also wants to fill the band with Mormons because they apparently ask for less money. Sam Schultz, the guy who started Taylor Vaifanua's last music group, is the new PR guy for Gaspy.

Looks like everyone knows everyone in Utah, huh? So even though David Osmond is cut in Hollywood, Taylor Vaifanua still makes it to at least the top 50. She's interweaved into a few webs there, so she's pretty planty. Guess we'll see what happens as the episode airs tonight.

Here’s a who’s who of the usual suspects who will be competing for your votes this year, along with some wilted plants who didn’t make it. Use this like a scorecard so you can check off the forest as the plants appear on the show.

Audition City: Unknown
Why He’s a Plant: He’s already came in sixth place on Nashville Star 2, had music videos played on CMT, and sang the theme song to the movie Dale. That’s a super plant if you ask us.

 


JoesPlace American Iol 8 Top 50 Update 12/29

JoesPlace has updated her top 50 list today. Here are the contestants that we know are definitely in this year's top 50. If they make the next cut, they are in the top 36, and will compete for our votes.

Angela Martin, Emily Wynne-Hughes, Jackie Tohn, Jakob McKay, Ju'Not Joyner, Justin Williams, Michael Bartul, Ryan P.A. Johnson, Stephen Fowler, Taylor Vaifanua, and T.K. Hash.

After Taylor deleted her MySpace, website, and YouTube when we outed her as a contestant on this season's Idol, she then started a new one and put this up. Interesting. But why is she trying to embarrass herself? Her other video was better than this 90's throwback.


Taylor Vaifanua - The Judges' Favorite This Year

Well we had the gender wrong. Meet Taylor Vaifanua, the contestant that the judges are creaming their pants over. She's got a website, a CD, and a MySpace. Apparently she doesn't do so well in Hollywood, but the judges want to keep her around anyway. Guess we'll be seeing her in the voting rounds. What do you think?
