Canadian Idol is Canceled, Over, Kaput, Done

We heard from a few sources this week that Canadian Idol has closed up shop and does not plan to have a season 7. We'll see if an official announcement comes out anytime soon, but we expect that the show is over. Somewhere Zack Werner is probably having a nice, tall drink.

Edited To Add: Official word's out now. And one source gives us credit for breaking the story. We were right, as always. ;)

VFTW darling Steffi D and Kyle Riabko, who are currently in the Broadway touring company of Spring Awakening, performed at a charity event to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at L.A.'s renowned Upright Cabaret at Mark's Restaurant in West Hollywood. The results are hilariously awesome, as we know how entertaining Steffi is. Yay for Steffi! And go support her by buying tickets to Spring Awakening as it tours the country. Tell her VFTW sent you.

What a VFTW Victory this season! We only had 2 picks that lasted the entire season, which means we only have 2 caricatures up for bid. So only 2 people will own a bit of VFTW Canadian Idol 6 history. Don't you want to be one of them? Bid today at eBay on the official VFTW caricatures, drawn by Laura Hawbaker, and used to promote our picks on the site. Both drawings are one-of-a-kind and come with a letter of authenticity. No one else will ever own a copy of these drawings besides the winner of the auction. So bid today, and bid high, as 100% of the profits will go to the artist (and she could use some help with the bills!).

Mitch wins second place! YAY! (OK, so we're disappointed and making up excuses. Theo won. Yep, the sweaty guy won, making him the first out gay Canadian Idol. Can't our VFTW pick ever win Canadian Idol? But it's been fun only having 2 picks this entire season. Go us! Maybe next year... and congrats on helping us get Mitch all the way to the top 2.)

Jake thought Mitch was flat. Sass was delusional. Farley wants to see more edge. Zack says it reminds him of Perry Como sleeping on a couch in a sweater then called him a bad 1960's TV show.
