I can't believe nobody else has commented on a mysterious sound in the middle of Simon's evaluation of Gokey. "It wasn't (noise) fantastic". I believe it was a burp. I laughed really hard and rewinded it 5 or 6 times imagining a Drunken Paula Abdul belching into a microphone to entertain her BFFF.

While I acknowledge that several of those performances last night were at best forgettable (sorry to quote Simon there), and there was the usual AI pimp fest, I did think that some of the performances were pretty good.
