I don't remember which season it was but the first time they had a Billy Joel week was a disaster. I never thought about Billy Joel in terms of having a huge vocal range until that performance night. Contestant after contestant failed to reach the right notes on his songs. It was bad. Billy just makes it sound effortless kinda like good singers are supposed to do.

I saw Billy Joel singing live last year. He is very underrated as a singer. He said he can't even sing like he used to especially Uptown Girl which is a strain on his vocal cords.
