CI5 Episode 13: Top 10 Revealed: "F*** You, Canadian Idol"

I cannot believe that CI has played safe, taken a leaf out of American and Australian Idol's playbooks and chosen ten incredibly bland singers.

What happened to the high standards CI has set in the past? If CI had been picking safe, bland and boring contestants in previous seasons, we'd NEVER have had the good fortune to see someone like Steffi perform. No Jacob Hoggards either!

I am disgusted in the top ten choice. This is trite, boring and shit. Like we need more Whitney/Celine clones, more mutilating of Motown, more boring coffee house fare of singing the tedious aural wallpaper paste music that is Jason Mraz and other shite Smeg, Carly &; Bwian favour, the trite country "music" that Tara and Elvi---Jaydee love? This is why I find American and Australian Idol so BORING! Safe and cookie cutter choices? Isn't there enough of that in mainstream pop as is?

Bring in some wild cards, reinstate Naomi, Tyler, Montana and Christranny to bring back some diversity, and put Steffi in as guest mentor!

Absolutely unbelievable! With all the promise CI had in Tyler, Montana and Liam, they had to pull an AI out of their ass and come up with this crap. I'd say this is a replay of AI6, but I don't see a Sanjaya on the horizon. It's only down hill from here.

Week after week I warned that unless we got behind Montana, we were risking our big chance.

The cropper was supporting bumba-clot Annika.

Tonight is a disaster for VFTW -- not only have we lost our prized flagship in Montana, but we've also we've lost our prized battlecruisers in Tyler and Annika. But hey, when England lost the Hood in the chase for the Bismarck, they still had other battleships to finish the job and win the war.

Yes, it was trite, ridiculous, retarded and ten degrees of stupid -- perhaps we may have made a tactical blunder in not backing Montana straight from the get-go, but we've still been provided with enough ammunition up our arses to blast Canadian Idol into a flaming wreck like how the Rodney and the King George V did to the Bismarck in the end.

I mean, we've got three wannabe Nashville Stars (hello, wrong channel, I believe you want CMT) to alienate the city folk, and the rest are blander than sugarfree vanilla pudding. Regardless, we may have lost the battle, but CTV have yet to win the war. In fact, in defeat, we have been provided the greatest keys to victory.

Onward, ladies and gentlemen! Lift your heads high -- we've forced CTV to resort to such tactics. We've got those bastards on the defensive, and we just need to keep our heads high and push forward to ultimate victory!

This is what happens when you let the Canadian public vote in the summer--all the teenyboppers who bullied and mocked the weirdos in their high schools and whose tastes run from vanilla to French vanilla are home for the summer with nothing to watch but this, so they're going to vote for the same old same old and boot the people with actual talent and charisma. AI has a broader audience, so the voting patterns are less predictable, but CI's audience is so incredibly narrow that you just know who're going to be the audience favourites. At least there's more people of colour than they've ever had before (Khalila, Matt, Mila, Martha, and Rob). But three of my four favourites are now gone (I was really hoping for a Carly Rae-Tyler-Liam-Montana top 4). I think doing Alanis was Montana's downfall--she should have ignored Farley's request and just do what she's always done. I think Liam's choice was a little safe, too--why didn't he strap on a guitar, for Pete's sake? I think Tyler's was a bad choice--it was actually tame for him. Is it just me, too, or is the energy really really low this season? I think Carly Rae is probably going to take the whole thing--I just don't think any of the others have the potential to go far in the business. We'll see what Rihanna can do for them--man I hope the guest mentors help pick up the slack, because the contestants are as dull as Wonderbread, save Carly.

We were having fun Smartie, but now you see why all the American Worsters laugh at this show. The same thing happened last year with Keith, Nancy and Greg. Greg's exactly the same this year as last year. What's the difference? Beats me.

Show just went from potentially one of the most entertaining idols ever to the worst ever. It was a fun three weeks.

I'm still practically speechless. How, how, how did Canada get rid of such talent? OK, Annika, I understand, but Montana? Tyler? LIAM??!?!?!? Really, Canada, what did Liam ever do to you but be really interesting and sing pretty well?
