Well, for the first time, I totally disagree with you, in regards to David Archuleta singing without any feeling or interpretation. My initial reaction to him picking "Imagine" was "Oh my God, this is going to be terrible." In fact, it wasn't terrible, and IMO was the best vocal of the evening. What made it the best, you may ask? The fact that he DID interpret the song and appeared to have conviction delivering the lyrics of the song. That is one of the things I think is usually sorely missing in the AI vocalists, and what makes a vocalist stand out from the rest is their ability to interpret a song rather than just sing it, like a karaoke-bot.
