Random Idol Thoughts
Paula-Gate 2008 is growing in intensity… well it is for us at VFTW, I think the typical teeny-booper (misspelling was unintentional, but funnier) Idol fans still don’t give a rip that their show is broken this season.
Paula’s AI apologists have come out of the wood-work. “Oh, it’s just Paula, she made a mistake. It’s live TV.” Heck, I even made a bone-headed typo writing about it.
But Paula Abdul’s ONLY JOB is to comment on performances, and somehow she can’t even do that right. She’s incapable of putting a complete sentence together. She has NOTES IN FRONT OF HER that she can’t even read properly. She can’t remember when someone sang a performance once or twice… because the TV show format was suddenly changed? Please.
She sucks horribly. She’s painfully bad. She might be the worst, most talent-less TV show personality… (except for Simon’s grizzly-voiced girlfriend who hosts the Idol recap show. That woman REALLY blows.)
Since there is no reason why Paula is still employed due to her insightful musical notes Paula’s real job must be to screw up badly so people have something to talk about. Because we all know that nobody is talking about these Idols, the Most Talented 12 Singers In World History.

My Random Results Show Thoughts
-- How great was that when Natasha Boring-field asked Ryan if she could visit David? David Cook stood up to receive her hug and got the cold shoulder when she hugged Archuleta. Cook was left standing there like an idiot for a while. And he never got that hug.
-- Neil Diamond’s performance showed why the Idols need 3-4 minutes per song. The song was boring and pointless for two of the longest verses in music history, with Neil speak-singing “pretty amazing grace” over and over. But then he got to the bridge with the mariachi horns and the song started to groove. I actually enjoyed it by the end. He would’ve gotten a FAIL if the song was 90 seconds long. By the end he managed to salvage at least a C.
-- I was reading a studio audience recap of the results show at EW.com and apparently Bedingfield had to start her song over because she screwed up the lyrics (maybe Brooke has a career as a pop singer after all). But us home viewers didn’t get to see the screw-up part of the “Live” results show. You FAIL Bedingfield. How many times have you sang that damn song by now?
-- In typical Idol fashion the Producers dismiss the “Idol is rigged” rumors with a shrug. I want some ANSWERS! Like, if Randy and Paula get to use notes, how come their critiques are so incoherent?
-- For those of us calling for Paula’s head (like myself), if she can bone a show contestant and gets off with a slight wrist slap, then mis-reading her cue cards is hardly going to cost her the easiest job in showbiz.
-- Bring on VFTW Jason Castro. Paula-gate showed that the Producers DO NOT WANT HIM TO WIN!!! And according to the same ew.com article, apparently Jason yawns through the entire results show, just like me!
-- Oh, and Idol ratings are down 25% from last year. You’d think more people would be tuning in to see “the Most Talented Singers in The Universe.”
