damagecontrol, I felt the same way about mk893's post. I was physically, mentally and emotionally abused by my first husband. He was beyond cruel to me, but everybody (especially in his family) thought that he was just the sweetest, most down to earth person they ever knew. He had everybody around him believing his lies.

In public, he'd always be all, "golly gee maam" and that kind of shit. In private, however, he'd beat the living shit out of me almost daily for anything. Most abusers are really good at hiding the shit to the general public.

So the fact that Papa Gepetto's family thinks that he's great, really doesn't mean that much to me. Some people hide it well, and some people around them refuse to see the truth.

You know what? This site is mean. Why would anyone do this to people. We should let GOOD singers win! NOT VOTE FOR THE WORST! And plus, David Archuleta is a FABULOUS singer! And so was Carly!!! All of you jerks are voting for bad people, and ya know what I HATE IT!!! Idol is about finding people for the younger generation to look up to as role models. It's supposed to show, that no matter how old you are, you can make it! And guess what? DAVID ARCHULETA ROCKS, AND I HOPE HE WINS!!!!!!!!!!! He doesnt stink. He rocks out loud. So stop being jerks, and vote for someone you DO like! JERKS!!!!

Chris - You're a little late to be commenting on this thread, but I'll humor you anyway. Glad you like Lil' Davey. We like him too, that's why we decided to vote for him...cause he's so entertaining in the worst kind of way. Carly wasn't, so we never voted for her. Make sure you know what you're talking about before you start spewing nonsense. And I am very sorry for you if you think a sheltered boy with a vocabulary that consists of little other than the word *GOSH* is a great role model for today's youth. Sure he's better than Britney or Paris or Lindsey, but that's not saying much now is it??

I didn't say he was terrible. Don't put words in my mouth. Have you read the "About Us" section on the main page?? Check that and see if you still want to make blanket statements saying people are being mean for voting for Lil' Davey. Honestly, if you think he's great and want him to win next week, you should be thanking the members of this site for their support. And I for one did not join this site to be mean to anyone. Why did you join??

I'm sorry. I didnt mean to put words into your mouth. And I didnt say YOU joined to be mean. I just said I know people who join this site to be mean. And I kinda misunderstood what you had said. You said he was entretaining(my spelling sucks. im tired. its 9:11 PM here) in the worst kind of way. I took offense a bit, because I just really think he is good. I joined, because I wanted to let jerks(not you) know that voting for bad people is cruel to them. And to the really good people too. Remember when Sanjaya was on? People were trying to make him win. That would've been very bad, and he would've been humiliated! That's all I'm sayig. I do see the fun in this site, but I still think its kinda mean.

Apology accepted. The thing I have found with this site is that it is doing very much the same thing that AI does itself. The audition shows are largely about making fun of people's idiosyncrasies. The first season or two I thought it was very mean, but friends reminded me that they signed up for it...they wanted their 15 minutes of fame. As for the Top 24 and VFTW choosing someone to vote for, they are all apparently talented, or they would not be in the Top 24, right? So if that is the case, everyone has to find someone to support and vote for...it may be based on their voice or their appearance or their style of music or their personality. Everyone is not going to agree on who to vote for or why to vote for them. And I have found that the people on this site, in general, make much more fun of the production than the contestants themselves (and since last week, of Lil' Davey's Daddy Dearest...but again, I think he likes the free publicity). From what I have seen (in photos) and read, Sanjaya appreciated the support of VFTW. He did crazy things with his hair to get attention so that he could stay on AI longer. I doubt if he would have been humiliated to win the show...he tried out so that he could win. They all do.
