I like old school metal. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Megadeth, DIO, Anthrax, Overkill ect.... Another type of music i like is hard Industrial such as, KMFDM, Ministry, Chem Lab, Project Pitchfork, Suicide Commando, remixes by Apotheosis.

Cant forget about the classics, Zep, Doors, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Thin Lizy, Jimmy Hendrix and on........

What i dont like is pop and corporate rock, music to me, in this day age is as un original as a new brand of toliet paper. Every little teeny pop princess or prety boy has no talent other than there looks. People in studios are ripping off the public with there harmonizers making horrible singing sound like tweaked whinnie crap.

I am not into rap and hip hop but i do respect a few of the artist as musicians.

So as a member of this forum, i am just curoius to know what type of music do you all like ?

I personally love everything you said plus old school punk like the Sex Pistols, the Ramones etc. then some AC/DC, the Beatles, Skynyrd, Zep, GNR, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, (and anything else outa Seattle). oh gotta add pre-Armageddon Aerosmith. If we're talking female vocalists, I'd go with Heart. my list goes on and on....

Bland, candy-coated pop and corporate rock have no passion, heart, or soul. If someone isn't going to bother at least trying to sell me on the song, then I'm not gonna waste my time listening to it. Barf

My favorite music is when the band has something to say and is passionate about what they are putting out there. My first love was punk rock: Lou Reed, Jello Biafra, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Ramones, etc. After that came metal: Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ministry, Ozzy until Randy died, AC/DC, Incubus, Motorhead, Rage Against the Machine, etc. Then came the gangstas: 2 Live Crew, Ice-T, Beastie Boys, Tupac.

Notice a theme? Once the recording industry discovers that something is popular, they fuck it all up by turning it into a formula and sucking the life out of it. Probably why I love to VFTW. Fuck TPTB and the zombies they produce. Oh, speaking of zombies, not sure where they fit in but The Cranberries are in heavy rotation on my mp3 these days.

Crap, I could go on and on, but I'll stop now. :)

I'm not a fan of much of their newer stuff either (St. Anger....:/ )

Master of Puppets is a brilliant song with a KILLER guitar solo. As far as Post Cliff material goes, the Black album is good

Oh hell yeah! I could listen to their first three albums on continuous loop. There was some decent stuff on Metallica (the Black Album) and ...And Justice For All, but they had a completely different feel about them. Hard to explain unless you've seen them in concert before and after - completely different bands. Maybe, that's what happens to all bands when they become mainstream?

Note to self: Edit is not spelled q-u-o-t-e. Oops! Pickler

Yea, how could i forget about Metallica. I am only into pre-And Justice for All stuff. They got way to commercial after that. When the meat head jocks started to sport Metallica shirts thats when it was over.

Today on The View (the part the president didn't interrupt) Timbaland was on with his new "song" featuring Nelly Furtado. She sang/rapped the whole damn thing with noises from him here and there. Is this what passes for music these days?? Sad. Mikalah

Timbaland's new song is retarded. Premise: Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, and Justin Timberlake walk into a club and act like assholes.

Sounds like a killer way to start off a joke, but the way it is, it's just a joke of a song.

"They said sexy never left then why is everybody on my dick?/ Don't hate on me because you didn't come up with it"

Uhh...Okaaaay... Simon

Nice list, i can tell your youngin, if i were teen or early 20 somthing today i be probably listening to the samw thing. You should check out some more old school metal.

When i get around to it i plan to check out slipknot and some of the others you mentioned.

I did see Manson live open up for NIN before anyone ever heard of him. It was a crazy show. He made Alice Cooper look like Justin Timberdork.

FYI Alice Cooper the original shock rocker.

and BTW another favorite of mine is Type O Negative, i seen them like 4 times. Peter Steele can whale bette than any of the pussy wanna be boy rockers.

My mom used to work as a legal secretary for an entertainment law firm in NYC when she was in her early 20s, and her firm represented Alice Cooper. She said he was the nicest, most darling man she'd ever met. Laugh

Alice is very cool. I saw him in concert on Halloween years ago (I must of been in JR high school, gawd) with The Robert Cray Band. Great concert.

Love this Alice Cooper song.

I typically DO NOT like Barbara Streisand but I absolutely love this song. I found this rare gem not too long ago on youtube. One of the best pissed off songs of all time.

I belive it, he is always friendly when ever spoken to.

And it pisses me off that all the pop princesses are all snoby bitches.
