I hate shopping during Christmas season. Too many idiots, plus with the economy sucking so hard, there will be plenty of pickpockets and muggers. So, if anyone finds any FREE SHIPPING deals out there, please post them here. And when I say free shipping, I mean free. No minimum purchase bullshit. Also, if you find any really good deals online, share them here.

Deb, let me tell you about my other favorite website: http://www.fishingfordeals.com If there is a coupon code, they know about it. I always check there before I complete any online purchase.

Going to be buying the hubby some winter boots on Zappos because they almost always have free shipping both ways. The only other thing out there that may go both ways for free is probably david hernandez.

I hate shopping period. Everyone this year is getting stupid gift cards. Except Mr. Buckshot and the kids of course. Deb, bizrate.com is a good place to start looking. They find the cheapest prices on any item.

Another good site is My Simon. Also, check out J.C. Penney. The cool thing about this site is that you can shop on-line from the Sunday paper's flyer from the item numbers. You can have items shipped to your house or to the nearest store. And if you ship to the store, you can go there, check it out and if you don't like it, return it right then and there. It's my favorite shopping site. Go online the weekend after Thanksgiving and everyone will have deals. When I had a job and money, I could do all my Christmas shopping online. This year, I'm doing the same thing as last year, making presents. Last year, I printed pictures of the great-grandmothers, bought some half-price frames on sale at Hobby Lobby and gave those to the adults. For the kids, I went to Big Lots and bought stocking stuffers. I spent about $100 total. This year, I think I'll be baking and making gourmet caramel apples. I'm really broke.

One year, for a bake sale at work, I bought some really large apples and caramel-ed them then rolled them in nuts and drizzled chocolate over that. They went quickly. I'm thinking that and gingerbread men and red velvet cupcakes.

I made apple crisp with caramel ice cream for dessert tonight. Caramel apples really are my weakness. And JC Penney is my favorite store to get clothes at because they fit me. I have weird proportions and narrow shoulders. Yay for clothes that fit.

We've basically agreed as a family this year to focus less on the gifts and just enjoy each other. *goosh* We'll have some family that has not been around for a few years. I am making most all of my Christmas gifts this year. I just learned to knit, and I am sewing lounge pants for the boys in my world. For folks at work, I make loads of chocolate covered stuff. Chocolate covered nutter butters and rice krispie treats are the best. *Dave, I agree about Penney's. Hubby, brother and Daddy are all XLT and XXLT. Impossible to find clothes for them anywhere. That's why I am sewing my own this year.

Yeah, this may be redundant, but it's worth repeating: this year do not be an idiot and buy presents before or on Black Friday. Sales this year will be off the hook after Thanksgiving. Viva La Depression!

I love to make stuff for people as I'm one of those creative types. I sew, make jewelry, knit, you name it, I probably do it. I can afford to buy Holiday gifts (We are a mixed family. My husband is Jewish and I'm a Bitch.) but prefer to make them. This year I'm knitting and crocheting neck warmers for the ladies. I am also making ghetto Ugly Dolls for the little kids. I like to make spiced almonds for people at holiday time and this year I'm also doing chocolate covered Oreos. The men will probably get the food items. Teens will get Amazon gift cards as usual.

Quote "joeyharmonic": Yeah, this may be redundant, but it's worth repeating: this year do not be an idiot and buy presents before or on Black Friday. Sales this year will be off the hook after Thanksgiving. Viva La Depression! Christmas before last, when I was working, I dropped $200 cash on each of my kids (they're teenagers) and let them shop the after Christmas sales. My daughter didn't like the idea at first - she likes presents under the tree. But when they saw the prices and saw how much the money stretched, they were sold. The best was when one of the sportswear stores in Florida, where we were visiting, was going out of business. My stepson cleaned up on shoes and stuff. Good times. Good times. And the good thing, maybe the only good thing, about this recession/depression from the economists is that the downturn is accompanied by deflation. Not inflation, like in the 70's. Now if I could just find a steady job, and get off the dole, it'd be golden.

Heres a link to the Black Friday ads Link I don't know if i'm doing it or not. It's actually kinda fun but also such a mess. JC Penny is awesome. My friend works there so I get to use her employee discount I also like Kohls. They always have such good sales. Last month a lot of there juniors/womens sweaters and jeans were 40 to go % off.

I made blankets for all of the females and I got popcorn and Blockbuster gift cards for the guys. I also am making white chocolate covered pretzels for my coworkers. Shopping done! I just have to get my brother a gift card because he won't like anything else.

Our local grocery sells gift cards to everywhere, and for every 50 bucks you spend on gift cards, you get .20 off a gallon of gas. Gift cards for everyone. I am already up to 1.50 off gas. That means next week when I fill up, I will be getting gas for .50 a gallon. Yay! We also go and buy gift cards before shopping at stores like Kohl's and Border's. It's awesome.

All my Christmas shopping is done. I got it all out of the way back during the summer while I had money from my grants. Hell, some of it is wrapped upstairs in the attic. I intend to enjoy a stress-free holiday with my two year old (yet to enjoy Christmas since having her). To the subject, Toys R Us has free shipping this weekend I believe.
