I almost feel sorry for whatever poor soul answers the phone at Idol if they don't find a way to keep the kiddies away from the sex line. Unfortunately it will be one of the lackeys and not the producers that has to deal with all the wrath.

All I can think of is all the people trying to call the sex line and instead they end up voting for DWD or Lil. The sex line is going to get just as many complaints.

Just out of curiousity, I dialed 1-866-436-5799 and got a message that the toll free number is not available from my area. Maybe Idol will be able purchase numbers way higher up to solve the issue.

Or they could ignore the issue, give the pimp spot to whoever they want to get rid of, and help the porn industry make some money.

In response to the question about charging you money without your consent, that is illegal and there are guidelines even for 900 numbers that they have to give you a certain amount of time (20 seconds?) to hang up before you are charged.

I'm guessing those numbers became a sex line because of Idol rather than were that way before Idol.

Funny story about that. The owner profited greatly from people going to whitehouse.com vs whitehouse.gov and refused all reasonable requests to take the porn site down....that is until he had children who reached the age of internet accessibility. At which time he said "gee, I don't want my kids accidentally running into porn when they're looking for the president". So he changed it.

Hasn't there been some reports that something is going to happen around this time of the season that will make everyone sit back or some shit like that. I see them being cruel and finding a reason to toss someone. However, instead of us reading about it we get to see the humiliation unfold live.

Scenario: They are all already living in "The Big Brother" style house and they know who they want to toss. So they keep cameras on this poor "mark" until they see them do something "douche" that is toss worthy.
