Dave,
I have been a VFTW supporter for years now. I have always agreed with your VFTW picks, and your opinions of the contestants. However, after choosing Danny Gokey as the new VFTW pick, I have to say something.
I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU'RE SUPPORTING THE BIGGEST ASSHOLE ON TELEVISION. As I said, I've been reading your site for years. I have never found the need to create a login name, because I always agreed with what I read, therefore I didn't feel like I need to comment. But this is outrageous. I know you think that this pick is a good idea, but it is horrible. It is such a disgusting choice, that I am nearly feeding into the rumors that your site is just in place to further increase the hype of American Idol, and that you and the show are involved in a conspiracy.
I always believed that the VFTW pick was someone who was hilariously bad, rebellious toward the show, had an amusing personality, maybe even supported VFTW themselves. But Danny as the VFTW pick completely blows my mind. It will not be funny to watch him win. It won't be funny to hear him sing more. It won't be funny to have to watch Idol/his record label promote him. IT won't be funny to watch his goddamn heart hands. It won't be hilariously funny to watch what you claim will be a train wreck of a career. I actually think he'll be around for longer than you think, and that's because he has so many "fantards" (which is the most annoying word you use, by the way), not to mention your support now.
I think Adam would have been a much better pick, but apparently you think he has too many "fantards." I'd say they'd be doing the work for us since there's so many of them. Adam's voice, outfits, flamboyance, and contradictory closeted ways are WAY more funny and VFTW worthy than fucking Danny Gokey. THAT SCREAM WASN'T EVEN FUNNY! It was painful, uncomfortable, and should have sent him home. THAT would have been funny!
I'm really angry and disappointed, Dave. I think you have this all wrong. Whatever, hopefully Danny's plane will crash on the way to his hometown parade.
