Actually, the accepted wording is "developmentally delayed".

Quote "CapersRule": Whatever............. I did not grow up on the Cape. I am from Ottawa which you would have known if you had read my second post. I do not speak with a caper accent and I generally use correct grammar (though I could care less about using correct grammar on a message board). I have 2 university degrees from a well respected university with excellent marks. I leave my intellectual abilities at the door when I post on message boards, except ones that are in my field. Why would one try to have an intellectual conversation on this message board? That would defeat it's purpose don't you think? If you want I can act like a prissy hoity-toity stuck up know-it-all to show off, but that would not very fun. No kidding.

Wow this thread cracked me up. This is the most publicity NB has EVER had. It just angers me that I'm only discovering this now...

Now that I've been to New Brunswick, I can honestly say it does suck. Hard.

I went to New Brunswick a couple of years ago, and not all of it sucked. They are very proud of their Moosehead Beer and have a cool Moosehead statue in Saint John. Check out the amazing gargoyles carved into the buildings in Saint John. I could spend a whole day just looking at the buildings there.
The peak of suckiness in New Brunswick, for me, is Magnetic Hill in Moncton. It is a slightly-inclined dirt road that people come to visit and stay in a hotel and pay admission to. Just to coast down a hill and think they are going up hill. It seemed downhill to me--I couldn't even see the illusion. It was a WTF was that moment for the entire family.

I'm in Fredericton. It's quite pretty, but there is nothing that stands out about it. I just want to know what the hell New Brunswick is known for other than being bilingual. I've found even that doesn't seem to be true. Yes, all the street signs have French and English, but I haven't heard much French here.

I wondered the same thing when I was there--I was expecting bilingual signs and more French being spoken. I did notice that I was often greeted with just the word, "Hi," then a pause, to give me a chance to speak first. I caught on after a while, then began responding with the single word, "Hi," to see what would happen next. It was usually English, but it was sometimes French.
Have a nice trip.
