I think it would be more embarrassing if other countires knew just how seriously people here take American Idol. It's a reality show, not a singing competition. It is a voting competition, Peter Noone said it himself. If you want to listen to good singers, then just go to FYE or Borders or something and buy the CDs of artists that aren't terrible.
