Me thinks this is one of the "plants" or family member of a plant that's going off. Way to keep it civil by calling everyone here a bunch of losers.

Quote "American Oracle": Quote "cdan89": Why is it that any time someone comes to this site and disagrees with VFTW and what it promotes is automatically written off as a troll. I've been nothing but a civil person trying to have a reasonable discussion on a controversial issue. Yet YOU make schoolyard comments like the one above...which on most boards would be a defining attribute of a troll. Hmmmm. Seems like hypocrisy to me. GROW UP! You've come here flaming about something irrelevant to the story at hand. I have not "flamed" anyone. Quote : Either you are too dense to fathom the real issue or you are deliberately trying to distract from it for your own reasons. No, that's what YOU people are doing!

Quote "cdan89": No, you are wrong and have debunked nothing. All you have done is continued to show your igonrance on what the show is truely about. But that figures, Vote for The Worst lives to promote ignorance. We can all learn so much from you...

Quote "hollygo72": Me thinks this is one of the "plants" or family member of a plant that's going off. Oh of course. It's ALWAYS someone who's IN the show that challenges VFTW...just like anyone who challenges VFTW is considered a troll. Because surely there are not people out there among the millions who watch these shows that are simply loyal fans. Because of course, "these shows are rigged and have no fans" and "the only ones who watch them are people from VFTW". After all, VFTW says so. Must me true, right? Bullcrap!

Quote "cdan89": Quote "all_sabrina": Quote "cdan89": I keep repeating myself here because I am simply a troll and i have no life except for my wet dreams about Nigel bending me over. Why is it that any time someone comes to this site and disagrees with VFTW and what it promotes is automatically written off as a troll. I've been nothing but a civil person trying to have a reasonable discussion on a controversial issue. Yet YOU make schoolyard comments like the one above...which on most boards would be a defining attribute of a troll. Hmmmm. Seems like hypocrisy to me. GROW UP! No, you ARE a troll. An educated troll who can spell, but a troll nonetheless. I can't believe everybody is patiently arguing with you and no one has toasted you yet. Why are you a troll? Well, if you were actually here to just make a point, you've made it several times by now. Furthermore, you're restating your point over and over in different ways without listening to anybody else's point of view or being even slightly affected by it. Third, by continually restating your point about "the letter of the law" (which no one has even argued with you about) and failing to acknowledge any interpretation of it (the exact same tack the AI producers are taking) you are attempting to make others look unreasonable and yourself reasonable. Third, you're annoying folks and coming back for more. And you just confirmed your identity by a schoolyard insult. Congratulations, you are a troll. But you know all that. You really do, or you wouldn't be doing this. VFTW! Why haven't you roasted this guy yet? Where have your collective cajones gone?

Quote "cdan89": That said, I've always wanted to ask this question on VFTW. How many of you have records out in the stores and are performing in front of millions of people? If the answer to that question is "none of us", then who are you to criticise and judge those who are on these shows...let alone try and question the integrity of those who are putting the show on. Do YOU? Didn't think so. As a matter of fact, I am working on my own CD. By myself. Songs that I wrote and will record. As an independent artist. Yes, it's more difficult to do it independently, but I am willing to do so, that way I have complete creative control over my career. If I don't have "millions of people" as fans, then so be it. I might not get nationwide marketing, or a platinum record, but I would be perfectly content just starting out selling regionally and working from there. I don't even know if I want to tour, moreso than just have my album out there. Then, once my album is finished, I'll offer it through various online outlets, both physical media and digitally. I may even ask a few local music stores to sell it on consignment. I may even use guerrilla marketing. And you're mincing words on "undiscovered". Wanna know why? Because you know good and well that if someone has signed a record contract, they've been discovered. This is way different than a singer or band playing in a bar (being "discovered" by fans). Let me make a short, off the top of my head list of singers/bands who I believe would have never made it had they appeared before the AI Producers/Judges (numbered, but in no particular order): 1. The Beatles 2. Elvis 3. Garth Brooks 4. Hank Williams, Sr. 5. Aerosmith 6. Alanis Morrissette Oh, I could go on... Here's a good article from Bob Baker about what's wrong with AI: http://www.bob-baker.com/amidolnat.html And, if you haven't read it, here's a good article by Courtney Love (formerly of Hole), that is a good look inside the happenings of a record label: http://archive.salon.com/tech/feature/2000/06/14/love/ So if you'll go back and read these posts very, very carefully, you'll see that the people posting on here are blasting AI, moreso than the "contestants" on the show. Here's another point: Why would TPTB have the contestants singing songs from the 1960s, the "Tony Bennett" style (whatever that is, Lounge Singing, maybe?), and other genres that won't be appealing (for various reasons) to the AI target audience and the ones who will be buying the CDs?
