Oh, hamburgers! Location: Hag Supastar!

Mondays 8p EST, Fox.

Anyone watching? I've seen the first episode, haven't watched the second yet.

It's like:

Stargate meets Terminator meets Jurassic Park meets South Park Goo Back episode.

Basically, the world in 2149 is a shit hole. There is population control, the air quality is virtually unbreathable, and life sucks. Some scientists find a way to travel back in time and they decide to send people back to the dinasaur age in order to save the world. It follows Terminator rules....one way trip only. Most of the people are there to try to save the world, but of course there are some there who are trying to shit in the apple pie.

I was entertained by the first episode...we'll see if it lasts.

I actually quite liked the first two episodes. It's super farfetched but in a fun way. Should be interesting.

I have also liked this show so far. I am hoping the story line does not get boring and predictable.

The plot device to get them to 85 million B.C. is a tired one they've been using since the '70s(over population, world is polluted, & etc.), since right now countries like Japan are seeing a shrinking population with most of the industialized countries not far behind since they're not even breeding enough to replace the current population. Even China is projected to follow this trend since its one child policy is has the male/female really lopsided. With all the push for "green" energy, how likely is the atmosphere going to get worst?

Other than that, its been interesting to see where this show is going. Are they in an alt-time line or are they gearing up to become their own great X 1 million grandpas?Laugh

I was kind of disappointed with this weeks pale imitation of Hitchcock's "The Birds". Was I the only one who knew those birds were the heretofore unknown creatures they were looking for, the first time the guy came out to shoo them off his roof? Hopefully, next week's episode won't be as predictable.

Some predictable, boring things (gruff generalissimo-type guy, growly female leader of antagonistic group, sappy teen love angle), and some kind of interesting bits. I like the mystery of the symbols carved in the rocks and whatever happened to Commander Taylor's son. The birds thing was pretty lame except for the solution which was pretty good. Will give it a few more looks before deciding.

Bird episode...meh.

Next week looks interesting...everyone gets Alzheimer's? Elizabeth's ex boyfriend is the only one who can save them?

Anyone else thinking Elizabeth's ex boyfriend is the spy from the other side?

That seems really obvious, but I mean this show hasn't exactly demonstrated itself to be good at subtlety to you're probably right. Laugh

Hmmm

Massive over-population with reproductive controls and law enforcement designed to ferret out unauthorized children. So how does a doctor keep her pregnancy hidden? Why not just force sterilization once a couple have their two children, or maybe slip something into the food or water supply which stops all reproduction and if you're authorized to have a baby you get some medication that counteracts the meds.

Sending colonists to the past? Can they send enough people back to make a difference in the now? Also what is the monetary benefit to now to dump all those resources into the past? It makes more sense to just tell people they're going somewhere else (it's one way anyway) and then just send them into nowhere.

That's one good thing about living in this time zone: live sports programs are over by primetime. If you're interested, you catch the game at lunchtime.

There was a slight up tick for the season finale in the ratings. Might be enough to get it a 2nd season. Some people think there are to many cliff hangers for the series to end here. I think if it ended here it wouldn't be that bad with Terra Nova cut off from the future as a ending. Anything else can be delt with in a comic book series carry on where the show left off.

They eluded to another portal in the badlands. I like this show and hope it stays on for another season.

We laughed and figured the Badlands must be where the Bermuda Triangle pukes out 18th Century ship wrecks. I figure it will be back since Spielberg has found a use for the Jurassic Park backlot, leftover set pieces and bits of CG scene work that hit the cutting room floor.

I thought I read that Fox had bought two seasons up front, thanks to the high profile people behind it.

At least it's not on NBC. Remember "The Event" and "Flashforward?" Yeah, hardly anyone does. One and done.
