I don't actually know because I don't use them.

I can either do a summary for you and send to you to update, or if you go to emoties and run your cursor over them, it will decode them for you.

You only see it if you run the cursor over it and pay attention. I did not know what most of them meant until I was about 5 months into the site. Then the lightbulb went on...
