Did you know that if you click the little red icon before a thread, it'll take you to the first unread post?

I actually discovered that a few months ago by accident. But I do use it often, so I don't repost stuff that has already been posted in that same thread.

I use it all the time. Great idea to post it here though. Seems like many didn't know what it was for!

Well I didn't know you could CLICK on it to be transfered there immediately, but I always look for the last red dot next to the posts so I know where I left off. Thanks for letting everyone know that you can click it. It will be handy for Gaspy's thread, so I don't want to smack someone for getting the "No posts exist for this topic" message.

You mean I understood something that you younger, more forum savvy people did not? It's the only way to read the board! (ok, Deb? before I go thinking I am all superior, is there a certain preference setting that people can click to make those red icons show differently that other settings? I think I have mine set to show new posts ) ETA: Quote : "No posts exist for this topic" message. I still get that.

But being an administrator is a choice. And we all know that the fringe bennies are no good. You need an agent. Renegotiation

I have a dumb question about that red thing for unread messages. I notice that if I'm away for more than 24 hours or logs off all the red alerts disappear and I need to guess what I didn't read by the date. Is there anyway to make those red alerts stay till I read them even if I'm gone for awhile?

Is there anyway to make those red alerts stay till I read them even if I'm gone for awhile? The red alert is only valid for that session only and no, there is no way for them to stay on. It goes by each 'session'. So log on, read the board, log off.
