Well, this looked like the best place to put this so here goes: There is a new(ish) personal data collection site a.k.a. white pages called Spokeo. When you enter your own name, you will be suprised at the amount of information that is listed. Kinda creepy really, and not all of it is correct - at least on mine. 
To delist, you have to click on the teeny tiny "privacy" icon at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions. It is a bit of a pain in the ass,but worth it. Just say no : www.spokeo.com

Easy for most everyone probably - for me - ubertechtard - I could barely find the privacy icon, and my husband was standing next to me pointing at it! How sad is that? 
eta: perhaps ubertechtard should be my new subnic. 'Cept I really want the double dots over the u.
