So we're trying to troubleshoot the login issues and figure out why people are having trouble logging in. So if you can't log in to this site normally, please post here how you log in so we can compare stories and see if we can figure out what's doing this. Thanks much!

It's so inconsistent for me. Can't log-in normally since Friday. Sometimes, I get white page of death, either when I come to site or after I log-in. Sometimes, I sign in but it doesn't show that I'm signed-in, but I'll go to AI8 Forum and suddenly be signed in. Have experienced a million variables of the above. However, once things get set, site works perfectly for me.

Usually the only problem I have is sometimes it half forgets me.

It comes up with the My Account and Logout tabs but if I try to do anything I'm not authorized.

If I log out then relog in it will be OK for that session and some random number of sessions after that and then I'm not authorized to do anything but log out.

ETA: I was getting the not coming up at all thing (blank white page) but then I couldn't get most of the pages to come up in the forum either so I figured that was a more widespread problem.

I had same sign-in problem again (white death page), but then went to AI8 Forum, where I saw the My Account icon in toolbar. I clicked on it, then was officially logged in.

I developed a method lol. When I log in, I always get the white page of death. It happens every time. It also happens when I try to reach the page not logged in. I have to go back to my history items, or type in for the log in page. ( I can't use links or I get the white page). So I have to log in, go back from the white page and click on my account. I get the "not authorized" message but from there hit the link on the side of the page to "message board" and then it behaves normally for me until I log out.

Like STP, this has happened a few times in the past 2-3 days. That's when I did spring cleaning on my 'puter.

I had been getting log on issues like it would forget who I am from one page to another. I would just keep hitting the "meSsage board" link and log in links till it worked.

But now I don't even get the log on issues because all I get is the white screen no matter what I do. Tried clearing cookies/temp files several times but it is seeming to just get worse. Before, I could get to the board before having the white screen, but now I can't even get to the vftw main page or the forums.

WTF!!

Last night about 11:38 p.m. Eastern, I was transported to limbo land of FORBIDDEN 403 and NOT FOUND 404. Between posting in the forum and checking the front page, I noticed that the story about Gaspy and Miley was posted at the same time. Then the Great White Way showed up on screen.

I couldn't get back on until about 7 p.m. tonight. I even tried from another computer at the house, but I guess it would be the same ISP address.

I haven't had any login issues at all, on any day, and I'm on this site all the time.

On some pages the "for the" and the ".com" are missing from the banner.

Just the Vote and Worst parts show up.

I was logged in. I saw that there was one post after mine under the Banner and clicked to read it. BAM! Kicked out on my ass.

No; I thought maybe people were getting logged out randomly and not being able to log back in.

Do you flush the toilet, or just leave the stuff with the thought that the device may randomly flush? (disregarding auto flush models).

Ok so here's an odd one. I went to PM someone and it just takes me to my inbox. I tried on a different member and the same thing happened. Maybe I should log out.

Your cache and browser temp files might be clogged like a public toilet.

I had that problem too. The PM links in the threads don't work.

If you go to My Account and select private message and create a new one, you can type the receipient's name in the To: line. It gets to them.
