Is there any way you can limit new users to, say 2 posts an hour (or less)? That would limit the spam until a Mod can get on it.

I think they need to put in some kind of human recognition test when people register (e.g. have a test with a bunch of pictures and make them put a check beside all pictures of animals) so the spambots can't register. The captcha obviously doesn't work.

Actually, that's what we have right now, so obviously it doesn't work either. It has helped cut down on the spammers that register drastically though.

That helps, but doesn't prevent trolls from spamming the forums by posting on every thread. I've been on other forums where noobs have a strict posting limit until a mod approves their registration. I'm not sure if the software you are using allows that (or even if it's all that desirable), but it would stop (or slow down) the trolls.

That means we'd have to approve every fucking account. I say no.

Our IP ban was being glitchy, but now that's fixed. So hopefully that will take care of some problems for now.

You'll have to change the kitties to bad plastic surgery victims like Jocelyn Wildenstein mixed with other celebs. I doubt the bots would be able to automate that recognition.

I thought I'd recycle rather than starting a new thread. There's a spammer - lyndon who hit all the comments in the non-forum part of the site.
