As great a job as our crack investigative team did unearthing, and ultimately controlling, the Antonella Barba zeitgeist, we all know how fast MySpace pages etc. are shut down by TPTB for the finalists. Usually, we have no clue who the finalists are going to be, however, next year she will definately be one of them. No non-24 contestant has ever gotten the buzz ( or sympathy/conspiracy theories ) that this girl did and we all know she will be there next season ( remember Simon's "commercial" with a capital C comment? ). That said, let's get an early head-start on this. Now I know she is a minor so we need to tread carefully ( the last thing I need is yet another restraining order ) but I'm not buying the 'innocent farm-girl' front for one moment. There are ex-boyfriends with axes to grind (and hopefully home-movies) ripe for bribery, loose-lipped friends, and countless other sources we can exploit prior to the Fox spin-control, image cultivation, media lock that is surely coming. Put on yer Jimmy Olsen hats and chop chop!

I am curious to see if you guys are right...it does seem that they likely told her to work on her singing, keep her nose clean, and mature a little...and if she tries out next year they will look more strongly at her.

I think they purposely avoid country and people from down south this year. After back to back winners with a country or sourthern bent they wanted to expand they demographics of the audience.

I still think Baylie was a bad singer, and a completely fake country girl, and I hate her muchly. That said, she'd probably make a great VFTW pick unless her singing actually improves. Then she'll be our enemy.

Her dad pretty much admitted that the country life wasn't for her. Her wardrobe consisted of dresses and heels (at least what they showed).

TPTB spent much $ and time producing that segment during the San Antonio auditions, I don't she how she won't make it. I don't think I could stand another pickler/jordin wanna be

She annoyed me when she blamed the BFFs after she was cut in Hollywood. It would be one thing if Ant &;; Amanda completely fucked up the song, but they did fine. She was the one who forgot all of her words.

Simon must be right about her having commercial appeal, because she had a huge following after being on TV for all of maybe 10 minutes.

The same thing happened with GINA GLOCKSEN. TPTB did a segment on her and followed her around at her dental hygenist assistants job in AI5... then she got cut. but she came back in AI6 and rocked the world. oops, i mean she rocked... well... nothing. but the point is there is a pattern here.
