The reason I bumped this thread is because I noticed, during this year's early auditions especially, how Ryan managed to keep a straight face while the contestants were saying weird, bitter or outlandish things. Then he kept the same innocent face when he asked them sly questions designed to make them look even loonier. He has really mastered his schtick. I give him kudos for that.

I actually think Ryan is a masterful smartass. I love it when Randy calls out "Ryan!" for him to come save whatever contestant is under attack. Gotta love that.

I had seen it before. He was lusting after that body builder as much as if it was me oiling down Anotella on the beach.

It was done when he was doing a local on a San Francisco station. No big deal there.

Wonder if that was his audition tape for AI?

loved this week's pair of contestants flanking him on each side at end credits.

remember their faces because you won't see one of them again.

Was Ryan dry humping Daddy Sanjaya before LaKisha's performance?

Or am I totally high?

Yes he was! They were humping, and the show came out of commercial and Ryan was caught off guard and pushed daddy Malakar off of him and onto his seat.

Disgusting Orange Troll. I love it when Ryan bitch slaps someone. Remember when he cut off PWE last year in the audience? Tonight he pushes daddy Malakar onto his chair. And, of course, the Quincy Jones bitch slap. Q gets revenge in a couple of weeks!

Ryan Seacrest interview from yesterday's Media Guardian, 26/06

He talks in marketing speak and tells us "The Ryan Seacrest Machine" is about to invade the UK. Can't wait.

Is that what he and Simon call it? "The Ryan Seacrest Machine" "Invading the UK"? Randy

Wait, so Ryan is going to top Simon "The UK" Cowell for once? This actually is kind of big news.

Well, I was certainly surprised to see him get a full-page interview in Media Guardian, that's quite a coup for an American who's hardly known at all over here. Would be big news if it was likely to happen... Cowell's massively popular in the UK and Ryan Seacrest is virtually unknown, so I don't know if he'd be able to compete as a presenter. As a media mogul he could do well though, after all he's made his fortune more quickly than Simon Cowell made his.

The Seacrest Empire... I know he's a workaholic but he sounds like a power freak too Simon Should we be afraid?

I had no idea he was doing so much other than AI. Sounds like a workaholic.

And curiously he doesn't look 32, he's one of those "I am so not sure" sort of ages - is it Botox? Those of you who knew what he looked like some years ago, does he look like he's aged?

I went down to timesquare today and I saw about three to four different places set up for the performers and interviews. Hopefully we get a good spot tomorrow. I was trying to find out who was performing where but no one knew anything as of yet. We shall see.

The Hosts, Ryan, Dick Clark and Fergie.

I think it will be a good show. I think Fergie will be on the West coast.
