I'm going to go under the assumption that Heejun gets faded out duriing Vegas rounds. Unless he is paired with PP again.

I actually think he might sneak into the top 13. I haven't heard of anyone being pissed off at his comments. The only Asian male I remember was John Park and he was boring as shit (talent and personality wise). All of the guys are super awful this year so if he gives an Ok performance he might have a shot.

If Heejun does survive the semifinals and makes it into the top 12-13-whatever, he'll be only the second Asian-American Idol male finalist ever. The only other Asian-American: Sanjaya Malakar.

Anoop is chopped liver?
Uh-oh -- now for the whole, "are Desis Asian or not" debate. I'm out.

^ Hanson, I don't think it was said in a disparaging way, or in a way to provoke that sort of debate (at least, I hope not...).

^ I understand your point Hanson (India being part of the continent of Asia, ect) but in this instance I think people are talking strictly along ethnic lines. Just my take on it.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Anoop. My bad. But then again, Sanjaya left a more profound impact.

He's giving me Sanjaya-type vibes. In the sense that, the judges love his voice, make him finalist, and then they'll shit on him on the live shows (mark my words).
I almost think they're letting him through on purpose to be the "joke contestant".

Part of me almost wonders if he tried out simply to Worster AI in an attempt to gain some credibility as a commedian (Borat style).

Fuck Anoop. Anthony Federov got 4th place and he was born in Ukraine, which is in Asia.

It's actually Europe.

Quote "Weenrocks": Fuck Anoop. Anthony Federov got 4th place and he was born in Ukraine, which is in Asia. Ukraine is in Central and Eastern Europe. No a part of the Ukraine is in Asia. Part of Russia is in Asia...but who refers to Russians as Asians? I am sort of getting what Hanson said as I instantly had the same reaction at first. Heejun can be the first East Asian in the top 10...perhaps that is a better and more accurate distinction.
He's awesome...So that means they will attempt to 'depimp' him rather quickly.

At the time of Anthony Federov's birth, Ukraine was part of the USSR which was in both Asia and Europe. Asia went on to have more popular hits including The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, Don't Cry, Heat of the Moment, and Only Time Will Tell, while Europe had little more than The Final Countdown. Therefore, Anthony Federov is 1/4 Chinese.

Anthony was born in Odesa, which at the time WAS a part of the Soviet Union, and is now part of Ukraine (though it might as well be in Russia because Russian is the dominant language and culture in southern and eastern Ukraine). Odesa lies in Ukraine. Ukraine lies entirely in Europe and is therefore not a transcontinental country like Russia is. Therefore, Anthony is European by birth.

Yeah, no one cares about Anthony. And if you want to find the Ukraine, get a fucking map.
Back to Heejun. He's too awesome not to talk about.

Anyone else think he sounded a little like Bryan McKnight tonight?
Besides that, he was full of win yet again with that clearly sarcastic apology. "I'm sorry to your parents"
