Those stupid newsmagazine shows spoiled tonight's Idol for me.
Turns out that girl didn't die or get seriously injured from her fall. She just becomes a pariah and nobody wants her in their group!

^^ Wonder if Steven had flashbacks to his own fall?

The fall is real. Singers aren't supposed to lock their knees. People pass out in an instant if they're bodies aren't relaxed while in performance mode. Simply put: she locked her knees.

One reason I don't think the fall is real is that Nigel would have had the whole damn law firm there (including receptionists) if he thought there was even a scintilla of a future law suit being filed against him for negligence.

This needs to be a photochop of some sort: A pic of Simone falling with the caption "I like the Sprite in you." (It's an old Sprite jingle.) With a Sprite logo.

^^ Also, she probably hadn't been eating well. Every year at Dragon*Con we have at least 4 kids pass out just at the art show and it always turns out that they haven't been eating and partying too hard.

What did I miss? Anything? Just got home with my new 32" flat screen and ROKU player (thanks IRS!). Breaking it in with some beer and shitty karaoke TV!

Well, it looks like someone else will collapse later in this episode, so something's definitely going on...or it's the new sob story.

Yep I fired my cable guys a few months back and have been using my PC and XBox to watch Netflix and HuluPlus. About 1/6th the cost and better programming!

she_is_so_random, the contracts you sign to even move onto the producers round acknowledge that Idol is not responsible for any injuries you sustain on the show. A whole lot of people suddenly appeared out of nowhere in this edit, which leads me to believe that the lawyers, producers, and medics had already seen the girl before the family and judges were allowed to touch her.
As for the Coke products, Idol only stocks Coke products at the audition venues. They will make sure other drinks are inaccessible to give Coke as much screen time as possible.
I've seen young singers go down like that before. They locked their knees and, most likely, didn't eat or drink enough before a performance. The only thing that stinks about it is Idol using a scary fall for ratings.

She's just a copycat. Collapsing is the new "Mah daddy's in prison."

This season is so boring that they had to show the awesomeness of Brenna from years ago to make this shitfest interesting!
