Britney Spears poses nude for Harper's Bazaar

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Oops, she lost her clothes. A six-month pregnant Britney Spears has posed nude for the cover of the August issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine and an accompanying photo spread inside, much in the style of the famous 1991 Vanity Fair cover of a naked and heavily pregnant Demi Moore.

On the Harper's Bazaar cover, a dark-haired Spears covers her breasts with her arms and crosses her legs at the knee, as she sits smiling into the camera.

Harper's said pop singer Spears "was never more beautiful" than when it photographed her a week ago and that it was the first time it had printed a nude photo on its cover.

The magazine added, "Since word leaked out about the shoot on Monday, people have been desperate to get their hands on the exclusive photos which were posted on various Web sites without permission from the magazine."

The former teen idol whose hit songs include "Oops, I Did It Again," Spears has frequently complained that she is hounded by paparazzi and earlier this month appealed to them to leave her alone. She also recently came under criticism for driving with her baby on her lap while fleeing a photographer.

In an interview with NBC "Today" show host Matt Lauer, she tearfully admitted to being "an emotional wreck," and defended husband Kevin Federline from sniping in tabloids.

I think I'd rather see :blazedis or pose nude.

Don't want to see her naked and not really a fan, but I do think the paparrazzi should lay off of her, however, posing nude isn't going to help the paparrazzi stay away. She is dumb to cry that they won't leave her alone and then pose nude.

I never understood why posing nude brings so much attention. Big deal, really... especially if you're going to hide all the good parts.

yeahhhhh... for as much as Britney is begging for privacy why in the HELL is she gonna pose nude??? really... she needs to be more consistant. or, maybe she's gone broke... husband spent all the $$ or something... yeah...

Whatever! However, I agree with Sil, what's the big deal. The only difference is that she's stacked a little better than me, has the courtesy of airbrushing, better hair colorant- damn! Britney made me depressed.

I wonder how many airbrushers they had working overtime to make those photos look good.

i'm sorry if i'm being mean... but really??!! she pisses me off.

You aren't the only one. I have seen some really beautiful "natural" pictures with naked mothers and their babies (A freind of mine is a photographer and does a lot with moms and babies) but what I don't like about Britney doing it is that it is for a magazine and for the world to see and not really a private thing.

I have such mixed feelings with Britney. On one hand she put a career on hold to raise her children and I commend her for that, especially since the entertainment industry doesn't always welcome people back that have been away a while and the entertainment industry isn't exactly known for putting family first before career.

But then on the other hand she poses nude, complains about the paparzzi after she does stuff like that, and then just acts like trash while talking to Matt Lauer (Spit out the gum Britney!!) and wonders why she gets bad press. I guess Britney makes me have a split personality.

I'm sure her PR people made her do it because of how horrible she looked in that interview with Matt Lauer.

She looks terrible in those photos. No pregnancy "glow" whatsoever. In fact, she looks ashen, like she needs an appendectomy or something. Who wears greenish gray makeup?

Another stupid choice. She and Fantasia must have the same people telling them what to do.

those photos make me wonder what I would look like all air brushed. It would be interesting to see the "before the touch up" photos.

If you look at the cover picture- it looks like it was airbrushed so much that she doesn't have any aeriolas left. Icky! And that hair makes her look like trailor park Lindsey Lohan (and that's kinda hard to do).

I hate that kind of pictures; either pose fully clothed or completely nude, not nude and hide body parts with strategically placed hands/fingers/skimpy pieces of fabric/fur...

I always loathed Britney and her clique (teen ho's) so this is yet another reason to roll my eyes when I hear her name.

Deb, I don't know why you didn't take credit for the comments in the pictures you posted. I love them! Reminds me of what all my mom's magazines looked like once ADD-child got ahold of them.
