^^^ There's a difference: people will pay to watch Tom Cruise in a movie.

Constantine Maroulis gets another opportunity to destroy the lives of chorus girls. He's going to star in the Broadway revival of Jekyll & Hyde. We can only hope the show closes within a month like the last few Frank Wildhorn Broadway productions.
And don't worry if you're not based in NYC: it's a national tour with a final stop on Broadway. You're welcome.

Some of you dont seem to be familiar with Rock of Ages, rightfully so btw. Tom's character is an older guy. Connie's role on b-way was younger. I dont see how that matters at all. Cruise's character is age appropriate for him.

Poor Nikki. What is an "industry reading version" of a musical?

An industry reading of a musical is the first step to getting a musical produced for Broadway. They hire actors to read the parts for potential interested producers to see if it is something they want to do. It doesn't mean that those are the actors who will eventually star in the show.

You won't have to, Nikki, unless they green-light the Musical and for some reason decide to cast him.

Thanks! Similar to the "workshop" concept on "Smash?"

Yes annielynn, something like that! A workshop is more intense and has stage blocking like you see on "SMASH". A reading basically, is reading the play out loud so the writer can see how it sounds. Not much movement or staging. Both involve enticing potential producers or backers for the show.
